My personal opinion is that these cars need something back there since I do not like the plain trunk line. It looks unfinished and the back of the car seems stubby without something to extend it a bit. Both the BRZ or FRS stock ones do a nice job of adding that needed length for the eye but some of the big duckbills just go too far.
