I had to lend my PS3 to a buddy so I only play on the weekends. (weak self control...)

1:05... I'm game. Bone stock, no suspension mods? But will be tough for me...

Yeah, it was and still is bone stock. haven't change one single thing. Only thing I have done to the car is oil change and washed the car.

toper 12-17-2010 04:26 PM

let's do a stock car race!!

Maxim 01-04-2011 04:28 AM

Well I don't have my ps3 online yet but I'm running similar times to you guys in stock form. Low 1:05.xxx.

What we need to do is have a competition to see who can get the lowest time on the 'ring using any and all mods...

At the Nur, I think Dragon beat me. I can't keep it up w him

RRnold 01-04-2011 03:46 PM

I think Ichi has all of us beat at Tsubi track with 55 secs! The fastest I got with my FT on that track was 59 but that is 401hp @ 930 kg

My FT runs 55secs. Some more tuning I think I can get it down lower, as my camber was Zero'ed out all the times I was racing with Ichi.

Side note, my F430 Scuderia turns a 51sec lap time at Tsukuba.

To date, I clocked a 7:18sec. I think I can shave another sec or two off that with some suspension tweaking.

Damn quick. race tires I assume? I've found that tuning wise, the easiest way to lower lap times on the car is to work heavily on the rear suspension setup. A slightly softer rear with the right limited slip and gearing can put the power down out of corners much better. You lose a bit of responsiveness but the corner exit speeds go up so much that it doesn't matter.

930kg? iirc mine was 890kg. I think, you can shave more time (if you're driving the NA ver).

7mins 18secs? Wow that's fast! :bellyroll: You mean 7.18secs, right? :)

True, but that don't be stock car race. If I can upgrade suspensions, lsd & tranny, I can totally pull out 59secs.

but other than that, I do agree with you. Low hp car require a lots of rear suspension tuning.

Same here 890kg. But I think the GSport weighs more if I recall.

LOL...right on. 7min 18sec. Faster than the real world ZR1 lap time...:bellyroll: Soon, I'm going to be attacking it again with some more suspension tweaks to see if I can shave off another sec. I did have one little missed cue during my run.

Actually I was trying to say that HIGH horsepower requires clever rear suspension tuning. When you have enough power to spin the wheels, getting the appropriate suspension geometry and weight transfer becomes even more important when trying to hook up, because that means faster exit speeds, which turn into faster times down the straights and big reduction in lap times.

I was talkin' bout my fully modded up FT-86 in the game ;)

Really? Fully modded ver, it was kinda easy for me to tune the rear. Mid to light tuning, I had hard time tuning the rear suspension.

But in the end, it's all up to how you want to set-up your car. High speed corner car or hairpin corner. Late braking to mid section til corner or brake early, but come out fast... and list just goes all and all. You gotta one or the other. Can't get both. :)

.

I haven't done the Stage 3 Weight reduction yet... *DOH*

I hate the Nur esp the LeMans Nur track that has the entire layout! Too many turns to memorize. :bonk:

Stage 3 weight loss loses 40kg? That's a ton of weight loss! Wow, I didn't know Stage 3 do that much weight loss. I just maxed out all spec when I got my FT86c and didn't really see which tuning do how much.

Yeah, I did that for the first time yesterday... after doing 2 laps, I almost shoot myself.
