For the alternator I'd suggest slotted vents, the voltage regulator doesn't like excessive heat build up.

I appreciate the info...I hadn't thought that much into yet... not sure I would have arrived at that conclusion either... lol👍

I would argue in favor of just pulling the alternator and polishing it ;-)

[sigh] smelled burning plastic on my way home from work Friday. Pulled over, opened hood and found this melting on header. So much for having nice things.

Well, that could have been much worse. I recommend you invest in a fire extinguisher

True, I'm lucky. Not sure how hot the header gets at that point (near the sensor), but I'm REAL glad it didn't melt right onto the sensor. When it cooled, I was able to peel off the melted plastic pretty easy. The cover was always a bit loose. Not sure why it flew off like that. Lesson learned for sure.

I think "hot as fuck" would be an accurate estimate

DASHCAM?

I ordered a Blackvue 2 channel cam. A front cam only wouldn't have picked up anything.
The car's barely 3 weeks old. I will be storing that shell and getting a new one because new car.

That's interesting, I really want the 2017 taillights.

Got pulled over after an officer ran my tag. He didn't think the car matched any "TOYOTA SCION" he'd seen before... He then asked about my taillights.

After he realized he confused an 86 with aftermarket tails for a McLaren, he let me on my way. Whole stop took 45 seconds.

These cars definitely look good. :party0030:

-_- Even if the car was a McLaren, was he just intent on finding something wrong with the car or its operator's driving just because it's a McLaren? Then to find out it's a Toyota with funky taillights...talk about Womp, Womp, Womp.

I was going 5 under the speed limit in the right most lane since I spotted him following me. After being pulled over, he literally walked up to my window and said:

"Sorry the computer sometimes is glitchy and your car came back as a 'TOYOTA SCION'."

Me (in my head): That's because it is... lol
