So I've noticed I have some corrosive stuff forming on one of my battery terminals (front negative on the standard dump pack, not the big, main terminal). This was one of the batteries I had the arcing mishap on during my install. I haven't taken the cover off to inspect any other terminals just yet.
With this knowledge, should I just clean off the crud, apply corrosion inhibitor and keep an eye on it? Or should I be considering battery replacement at this point? I'm concerned because I thought these were supposed to be sealed batteries. Input is appreciated, thanks. |

To play it safe I would snag a new battery. An arced battery may have exceeded its limits of discharge and you are now seeing it's after effects.

I'm going to buy a replacement, thanks guys. I bought nlowell's kit/batteries so I'm pretty sure the battery warranty doesn't apply to me now anyway.

After 5+months wait finally got my esc 250 1.5 kit installed this past sunday and it's totally worth the wait and $$$.
Been running it every chance i get and its been a real pleasure and so addictive. I wonder what you guys use to cover up that hole in the passenger hole that you run the wires to the engine bay? I'm thinking of getting a rubber cap then cut a small hole in the middle then cut it half way to slide the 2 wires to the middle. Also if anyone one using a light weight pulley kit with the system? Planning on installing my nst pulley kit with the gates belt either this sunday or next weekend. |

You could get an appropriately sized rubber grommet from any hardware store that would seal it nicely around the wires for about a buck. Congratulations on your kit. I just took some dense foam, cut it into a cylinder to fit in the existing grommet, cut a split half way through down the length (think pacman) and sandwitched the ESC wires in the slit and pushed it through into the hole. Probably isn't completely waterproof, but It knocked down the engine compartment noise, and should help keep bugs out.

So i plan on wrap it with this foil hope to help keep it at at a lower temp. I was thinking of the same thing
Using this to keep the temps more stable Also i did some googling and found out some people actually use on various supercharger setups to keep the supercharger at better operating temps So i was wondering if i would to cover this onto the esc would it void any warrant? Has anyone had any issues with the voltmeter display unit? Mine has apparently ceased functioning properly, but it still works as an on/off switch for the system and the overall system itself appears to be working as usual. Just the red numerals don't light up or display in any way. This is with the most recent batch of kits (the last of the drag reduction equipped ones).

About to join the club :). Just wondering has anyone been running e85 with the ESC? Also what are the latest dyno numbers for petrol and e85? Oh and if I have an aftermarket sound system hooked up to my current battery, to put it on the new batteries I would just connect it the same way to the starter one correct?
