24 male, no accidents, lower middle class.
SGIC (NRMA in SA), comprehensive plus, $800 excess, $1019 38k agreed Probably going to go comprehensive, $1500 excess, $718. 38k agreed Just Car, comprehensive, $1550 excess, $667 I'll be turning 25 early Jan so that should help it aswell. |
28, no accidents past 5 years, northern suburbs.
Sydney AAMI: Comprehensive $1255pa - $720 excess, $46,100 agreed. This way I'll make a profit if something unfortunate happens. Got this quote 4 months ago before 86s begun to get written off driving premiums up. Quote lasts a year, and yes, Sydney siders get shafted on insurance compared to the rest of Australia. |

Also, everyone brace yourself for insurance next year, as with one particular insurer, 10% of their insured 86's have had claims against them.

haha fuck! I still dont know who to go with.

Damn. I feel lucky! Or just old.. 30yo + rating 1 + no at fault accidents (ever) + my suburb + brz not 86 =
Just car, unlimited mods, agreed value $45k. Comprehensive $864. Excess $450. 1 or 2 at fault claims per year with no excess or rating change (I think the are still deciding). All drivers older than me automatically covered. I am engineering turbo, suspension and brake mods in a few months, but it shouldn't affect the premium. Just car have also been really good with me picking shops in the past. Their official line is they will give you 2 crash repairers to go to, and you can provide 1, but in my last two claims both times they have let me use my preferred shop. |

They told me they only do replacement if there is one available in AU.

26 year old male driver + his 59 year old mother (yes, my mum does drive my 86)
Northern suburbs of Perth, two accidents that were not my fault (rear-ended by other vehicle), never made any claims Agreed value $30,000 (paid $34,800 for this car) Excess $550 No limits on mods Annually? A paltry $450 with SGIO after AAMI pricematch. |
AAMI quoted me $3300 a year for comprehensive.
Quite a good deal I believe ;) |
ahahah wow! I hope the AAMI girl is thrown in for that money

21 Year old driver, no claims, no at faults.
I Had a quote done by a few companies, NRMA wanted 1502 per year with an 800 excess, just car wanted 1300 with a 700 excess and toyota themselves for comrehensive insurance actually quoted me 890 per year with 600 excess, they also guarantee genuine replacement parts (not that there is that much aftermarket gear out there yet) free hire car while the car is in the shop, 3 year new car replacement and agreed value after the 3rd year. I was quite surprised actually, given i've only had an open license for 6 months. I'm thinking I'm also going through Toyota for finance, as they have virtually no exit fees, and have beaten every other interest rate i've been offered for someone with pretty much no credit history. |
27 year old male driver, havent had car insurance for the past 7 years (shoot me)
no claims against me, no incidents, no speeding fines since I got my licence back 8 years ago $1050 per year for agreed value of $43,000. was rapt with that. |
