Probably not going to rock it regularly as its not as comfortable to use as the stock one, but turned out pretty good for a whacky spur of the moment project. It took a surprising amount of dremelling to get the adapter to fit in there, but Im pretty happy with the result. I didnt exactly buy this car to be taken seriously lol

It's publicly available information, so if someone researches your plate they can find out who you are, where you live, and where your car might be if they felt like taking it off your hands for free.

I wonder how many cars have been stolen using their license plate info from a photo they posted on the intraweb? I bet it's just not even a relevant statistic and getting your car stolen from a posting has to be like being struck by lightning.

I don't care about blurring my license plate out. I went through a lot of threads where people's cars were stolen and didn't see one where it was a bona fide carjacking without using keys and hotwiring the ignition. All the cars were stolen cause they were left unatteded with keys in the ignition (still running!) or keys were left in plain sight where someone could snatch them. Moreover, I don't think this car appeals to carjackers. It's not high end enough and not in demand enough. So show them license plates!

lol If someone wants to steal my car, and has all the relevant info for it because I don't blur out my license plate for pictures, they're welcome to it. They went through a bunch of trouble to get it, anyhow.

Just answering the question. I'd personally rather not volunteer/hand out any information nobody needs, which is a common practice for me in general, so I do obscure my plate when possible. I can't control someone else's pictures of my car and where those end up as easily, but I can at least control what info I volunteer. Some people care about it more than others, and some are cool with putting their full address down to the zip code in the "Location" on the left side here. To each his own.

While it does look absolutely silly,I'd bet it would actually look kinda cool if it were painted black.

You're making me doubt my "just get the black oe interior bits" project. This looks tons better than the oe silver!

Speaking of nightmare stuff, stripping the handbrake boot to glue on the alcantara version was a fun project. I managed not to glue my fingers together! I'll post pictures once I'm done with the remaining console bits.
