Initial "gotta have it now" demand is drying up, in September Capitol was putting leather on every car they could, now I don't think they're installing leather at all. I called it months ago; beginning of summer they'll be sitting on the lots collecting dust like every other sports car, especially if dealers are still playing games.

Yup, I agree with this since I have been searching this past month for a BRZ. Most of the BRZs that was still in showrooms in the beginning of the month are still available with 2-3k markup. They also have the rear diffuser which I wasn't fond of. What's keeping me from buying right now is the markup and being hopeful of news on 2014 BRZ at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon next month.

BlaineWasHere 12-24-2012 01:33 AM

I wouldn't expect much change on the 2014 other than bug fixes and a few more options (mainly for the Scion).

pyro530 12-24-2012 07:44 PM

Chuck Patterson in Chico has a Firestorm and Whiteout currently on the lot, I didn't stop to see what transmissions were in them. I don't recall seeing plates mounted on the front, so anyone looking for a car without bumper holes this might be your best bet.

Fair warning - I bought my car from them and I wasn't super happy about the overall customer service level.

If you do decide to buy from them, ask for Ryan Deitz. Old carting buddy of mine; I didn't find out he worked there until after I had purchased mine. He is also the internet sales manager so you won't have to deal with the BS I went through.

Dboe 12-26-2012 04:46 PM

Chico red has that logod bumper. Not really what I wanted. Has bespoke too so its listed as like 26500

redGSRguy 12-27-2012 06:24 PM

Wish the dealers weren't putting in that custom leather...

mobiusrain 01-02-2013 10:50 PM

Same here. I was at Putnam Scion in Burlingame a few days ago and all 3 of their FR-S inventory had leather installed for 4K markup. Ridiculous price for custom leather.

Piercey Scion in Milpitas still has a nice Lava FR-S on display, but with a TRD exhaust and aftermarket wheels pushing the price north of 30K *sigh*...

yea thats piercey does. they marked up too much. but somebody bought the raven five axis edition for 38k asking price. wonder who got it. lol

Fizzle 01-03-2013 12:03 AM

JackSmiley bought the full axis edition for 45k$ or so i heard. (Coconuts told me)

mobiusrain 01-03-2013 09:29 PM

I wonder if I put a deposit down for a future allocation they would sell it outright with no dealer-installed nonsense.

I heard this also.

BTW Piercy did sell me my car for MSRP. I think they get so many allocations because they are such a large volume dealer so they they sell some at MSRP but do take some and add shit on and jack the price through the effing ROOF!

mobiusrain 01-03-2013 10:53 PM

That's good to hear! Maybe I'll drop by again next week and try to discuss a deal ü.

I've been trying to do this since October, good luck.

Get them to confirm the PRICE in writing, I think that's where my big mistake was.

Thats not actually too bad... Clearbra is around 9 for decent coverage.. BS fin and tint are another 3-350, so $700ish is a convenience price and also allows you bargaining if anything goes wrong on any of those things.

gmookher 01-04-2013 03:45 PM

BRZ are available below MSRP, way below, if you can drive to PHX, pm me for details on my contact at the dealership.
Here are the 2 of the 2013 Subaru BRZ’s that are incoming this month with approx ETA of 1/21/13.

2013 BRZ Limited manual in Sterling Silver with Popular PKG #1B MSRP of $28807.00 sale price of $27988.00 plus fees, over $800 off MSRP

2013 BRZ Limited Automatic in World Rally Blue with Popular PKG #1B MSRP of $29907.00 sale price $28998.00 plus fees, over $900 off MSRP

The Popular PKG #1B consists of auto dimming mirror with compass & homelink, rear bumper appliqué, chrome fender trim, cargo tray, and wheel locks.

I dont sell these, I have a great relationship with the dealership and can refer members, I dont work for them.

strat61caster 01-04-2013 05:29 PM

Sorry buddy, that looks like a whole bunch of markup to me;
http://www.subaru.com/vehicles/brz/index.html
Subaru BRZ Premium MT $25,495 + $770 Destination/Delivery = $26,265
AT = +$1,100, ($27,365)
Limited MT= $28,265

At least that's how I define MSRP, some may disagree. If you want the add-ons more power to you.

Edit: butdamnbrian is correct, I swapped trim levels

Firestorm automatic at Yuba City Scion. Also used Argento (apparently the guy's wife didn't like it).

JackSmiley 01-12-2013 05:10 PM

Piercey toyota has a Raven AT with five:ad body kit, katzkin and trd exhaust for $34119 and a Hot Lava MT five:ad s5's, trd exhaust and lowering springs for $31315.

86BRZ 01-13-2013 07:54 PM

Saw a WRB on Stevens Creek Subaru on the lot. Just driove by, no details.

Intake 01-13-2013 11:59 PM

Just bought a BR-Z from Putnam Subaru in Burlingame. Had a good deal on it too!

Interesting. One of the salespeople called me 4 days ago and said they discounted that same Hot Lava to 30K flat xD.

I was there last Friday, it's a Limited 6MT and marked up by 4K :bonk:. I asked about ordering a BRZ there but wanted me to provide my social security number! Said that Subaru needs that information to place the order. I don't see why they need that unless they want to run a credit check or something. I smelled fish and just walked away.

LOL, that probably may be the car that I ordered long time ago....anyway, found a couple FRS listed at MSRP on Craiglist too.

russv 01-16-2013 09:56 AM

Another new Argento automatic at Yuba City Scion

BigFatFlip 01-25-2013 07:10 PM

Was picking up some touch-up paint from Downtown Subaru in Oakland and saw that they had a WRB Limited on display. My wife and I were in a rush, so sorry, no other details.

Fizzle 01-25-2013 07:11 PM

Asphalt MT and Ultramarine AT are available in dalycity City Toyota. Both are installed with bespoke navi tho.

Black is still there inside the showroom , Hot Lava i think is gone now (it was outside displayed on the mini pedestal @ the service center area) unless they moved it somewhere else.

As a rental or member? Lots of us were skeptical of the Model S but it has won everyone over. Such a cool car

Not to drag this of topic discussion, but yes, rental. Did a tour of the nummi plant on a Tesla event and was really impressed with the engineering of the car, guess I'm not the only one.

Redfrs88 02-03-2013 01:08 PM

my dealer in the south bay has one that just got off the truck. red manual. pm your info if your interested. wont last long

ChrisF 02-06-2013 04:19 PM

Anyone have a line on a BRZ Limited manual in blue/red/white at MSRP within 200 miles of Marin? I'm able to find 2 used blue ones at or above MSRP and one red one, price TBD.
