the plug with 6 small wires

We don't have that plug in our headlights here in the US... so do you have some kind of daytime running light built in to the light? Hmmm.

And it seems pretty obvious by looking at the plug that you just push the thumb tab right on the top of the plug and pull it out. Is this a trick question? :)

frs 08-04-2012 12:42 PM

lol, i have no idea what that plug is for...
well i tried to remove the plug all i can with logic but it just doesnt come off...

frs 08-04-2012 12:58 PM

Oh the plug doesnt need to come off its just tacked in the small housing...

Definitely your headlight warranty, but they can't say anything about the mechanicals of other systems unless they prove that mod damaged them. Dealers can always try and give you a hard time though, a call to Scion customer support should help with that. Anyways, thats the short version of the law pertaining to warranty in the USA since the 70s.

There is a way to get the high beam very blacked out while keeping reflection full... Want to see?
In the old school they are called cross-hairs:

Here is an example of standard:

Cool huh? And no light lost! We will have kits soon, should we do a group buy?

For the bake before and after are you just pre-heating to 225 and leaving it in there for 15 minutes with the oven on?

I've read a lot of these DIYs and thought you're supposed to pre-heat and turn the oven off then put the headlights in?

I might be doing this over the weekend and I really don't want to screw it up lol.

I hope someone makes a JDM style LED eye brow attachment: Open headlights, paint, attach LED strip, replace projectors, and add HID Kit. JDM style headlights at a fraction of the cost of OEM headlamps.

I preheated the oven and left the heat on as it baked... no problems at all with anything even close to being damaged. In fact, I put them back in for five more minutes the first time to soften the sealant even more.

I have an entry level heat gun (used it for debadging and defrosting a fridge) - for a first timer, just stick with oven or use the gun? I'm worried about the goop you had to deal with.
