So you are cutting a hole in your hood because you don't have a mirrored turbo?

Yes due to the turbo being higher on the left side. But it is not a hole. It will be like a DSM with a small rounded hump. Little less expensive than trying to source a set of mirrored turbos with vband housings that will fit. Precision only makes the mirrored size in 6266/6466/7675 anyway. Either way you look at it, this was way easier.

Right. I just wanted to be sure I saw that right

Decided to go with a bigger radiator and had to modify the entire front end because it is to tall and will hit the turbos. I cut the old radiator mounts off and came up with a solution for the radiator and intercooler. Radiator will be the Be cool 35223. 3" thick core, 28.5x17 with 2780 cfm fans.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9279fba970.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a9cc245a1f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...040f8edf04.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e4bc1a6880.jpg

Today was max effort for little gain. The brace i was trying to make for the top of the radiator turned out shitty but i have extra material so i can make another one. The turbo oil drains are too high in the front cover so after much thought i decided to put them in the oil pan. 13 bolts, 3 allens, oil filter housing, oil filter, steering rack, subframe, subframe braces, sump pickup tube, balancer, front cover, dipstick, and waterpump i got the oil pan off. Will be drilling and welding the pan tomorrow. Plus i have to get this gold iridite coating off before i weld it. Here is how it sits.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9bc354fbbf.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e27224ab3f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...74bac45a11.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...066f92aed5.jpg

Got most everything reassembled. Have to get some wastegates, little more coolant piping, ic piping, and make the downpipes then ill start it. Also got the drift armor bar back from powdercoating and it came out nice.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ceb7cd681c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fb28767535.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...02d1eb0ede.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...156f33d23f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...277e34c55e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...053fa90296.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...28c65b4889.jpg

Looking much cleaner now.

After I install the wastegates and downpipes and get everything set, I will send all the hot side parts including turbos to swaintech for their white lightning coating:
http://swaintech.com/race-coatings/a...s-price-sheet/

No more rusty parts after that and the best heat coating available.

Thinking of powdercoating the ic piping or I wonder if there is a better way to do it?

Really isn't a better coating than powder. If you want crazy colors look at Prismatic Powders.

I was meaning about heat reflection coatings for ic pipes. Not the gold tape that does nothing.

They make reflective aluminized sleeves, and wraps to cover tubing and hoses. It won't look as nice as powder coating, and honestly I'm not sure which one would work best. I was looking into a product from thermotech.

kurty85 04-28-2019 07:02 AM

I saw those. They look like hooker boots. Think ill just powdercoat everything since it doesnt seem to make a difference in temps. Working on finishing the coil pack relocation now also. I mounted cbm motorsports coil brackets in the fenderwells last year and left them until now. Now i have a reason to use them.

Got the headers back. Fully welded now. Modified turbo filters to fit. Installed everything for last test fit. Downpipes are last thing. Intercooler pipes are done and at powdercoating. After downpipes, all hot parts will go to swaintech.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c99677e5ac.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b99f8955b5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6815020d3d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8452489c3a.jpg
