Latex seems to dissolve in the oily stuff.

I'm picky about the gloves I use because of my work. Some 'nitrile' gloves seem to be a latex blend or something. When I say dissolve the latex ones don't 'melt' they start to develop little pinholes all over and then just tear.

But yeah, no man hands!

other tools that are helpful: jack stands are a must, a nice impact driver (it'll save you sooooo much grief), pry bars of various sizes, flare nut wrenches, 3/8" drive universal joint adapter, wobble extensions, and a very small pocket flat head screwdriver. extend-able magnets are another life saver.

She must go through the same pain initiation we all went through....it is the foundation of every wrench turner....

....her knuckles MUST suffer!!!!! No specialty tools!!! Pry something? Use the flathead! Impact driver for the stubborn bolt? Hell no, put that open-end on there and watch your knuckles fly right into the side of your block!

Sounds over-torqued. If I remember correctly, Toyota lugs are 80ftlbs of torque. Don't quote me on that, look it up before you torque 'em to that.
