Generally speaking with a 17x8 wheel a 245 will be a little faster then a 225 around a track. But a 225 might “feel” better to most drivers even if technically its slower.

For autocross, more tire is always faster time. "Feeling" be dammed, even if the car is a boat, more tire = more grip = faster times. For track where speed actually matters this isnt always the case....

i would take it to another shop, get their opinion on what to do, and then talk with the shop manager at the original dealer to have those things done at their cost.
