I had this problem as well, reversing while turning the wheel led to multiple audible pops


I fixed by tightening the 3 strut tower nuts, and also cleaning and re greasing the front brake pads.

And yes, the actual fog light indicator in the dash does turn on and off with the official OEM (not eBay "OEM") kit.

Just because it's being done at the dealership doesn't mean it will be done correctly. Especially at the Toyota dealership working on a Subaru engine.
