If it runs out of battery, you need to buy a whole new TPMS unit. Maybe some aftermarket TPMS have replaceable batteries, but it's unlikely

I have to disagree there. The increase in body stiffness alone makes the car feel much more solid. That will lead to less squeaks and rattles down the road too. The switchgear is nicer in most places...
