They should not come off if you torqued them...

They should not come off if you torqued them properly. 26 ft/lbs on overpipe bolts, 22 ft/lbs for header studs. Drive around and allow them to heat cycle, then re-torque. After that it should be good.

If there is a conceivable difference in dampening, you could probably not tell for street use. I had JDM spec, rode over potholes just fine.
