The more gradual bite is a hallmark of G-locs makes them easier to modulate. Thats key to a gradual release which is what allows the driver to finely control entry yaw angle right up to the tires...

I just installed the Cusco pedal last week and attended a track day. Very noticeable difference. Do yourself a favor pull the pedal assembly out of the car and attach the pedal extender on a bench....

I tried that with a clutch, and got 35,000km out of the new one which was faulty and shat a spring out of the disk which got sandwiched between the disk and flywheel, thankfully, and not the other...

Any moving part on the car might go bad at any time but most things like the water pump, pulleys, etc will last...

I haven't heard of the water pump being a weak link in the system so far.
It's usually leaky timing chain covers, main bearings or hopping rockers.
You can take off the belt and check for a wonky...

Can't speak for the CRV, but in the RAV4 if you hit the start/stop button again, it will shut the car off (or into accessory mode) but tell you to put it in park. Just try it when you are pulled off...
