Not sure about using nylon lock nuts on hot exhaust though....they might melt? When I installed my turbo manifold I used these titanium lock nuts instead. Holding strong so far and no leaks.

By the way you can't really just bolt on the wrx brakes and expect the brake bias to be similar....because they're not. Theoretically you'd get more front bias when used on the 86 due to differences...

What you've mentioned in the second paragraph with regards to fronts overheating can also easily apply to many other cars with factory (i.e. non-bbk) brakes, not just the FRS/BRZ with STI-Brembo's.
