Their is no true "update" , the current rom is totally erased then a complete new rom is written back in its place. Its not an in incremental process.

Why not? Why would a dealer refuse a ECU update of a car? You ask for it, you pay for it and done. It's a 15min job. At least that's the case in my country.

50 percent seems way too light imo. Like nothing is there, 35 should be fine. I've had 15's and 20's on my car for the longest, cops don't seem to mind (but others may differ.)
