Jay's DD 2014 BRZ Build

Coming from the muscle car and truck owners club, I figured I would get a tuner car added to the collection as well. I have owned the car about 6 months now and it is a fun little car however I find it to be horribly slow compared to the way it looks.

I have spent this time trying to figure out what direction I wanted to go with it, and now that winter is upon us and I am not really driving it I have time to work on it, this will be primarily my DD for when the roads are not crappy. When the roads are bad I will still drive my truck .

So far these are the mods I have planned for it, none of them are done but they will start getting done tomorrow when parts start showing up. Will also post pictures and such of parts as they come in, and when they get put on the car.

1. Tint the windows (yea yea I know should've had this done the day I got it lol)
2. Wheels and tires (thinking of black RPF1's with 245x40x17 Proxies R1R's)
3. Suspension (either going with Tein, Cuso, KW, or ISC haven't made up my mind yet) also do not know if I want to spend the money on the kw v3's
4. CAI Perrin Performance Big Maf
5. Pully's Perrin Performance red 3 piece kit
6. Headers no cats, front pipe, overpipe 3" JDLAutoDesign
7. Cat back preferably one with 2 strait through short mufflers, or no mufflers not sure yet
8. Oil cooler (not sure which one yet)
9. EcuTech programmer

The above is in the very near future

Planned for sometime 2015

10. Sprintex 355 supercharger w/ intercooler
11. Port and Polish heads
12. Head studs (probably ARP)
13. forged pistons and rods (not sure who I am going to have do them yet)
14. Street/race clutch and lightweight flywheel
15. Carbon Fiber vented hood
16. Carbon Fiber Trunk
17. (might do some more carbon fiber not sure yet)

Once all of the exterior and drive-train work is done I am going to work on the interior however I have not thought that far nor do I know where I want to take it yet.

The parts I am not sure of yet please feel free to leave suggestions, let me know what you think of this build. And now for some quick pictures (not the best quality took with a cell phone.

Some pictures of my other rides

This will be nice to follow. I got a GT-R in the stable so I know the lack of performance.

I will keep it updated every time I make a change to the car, the tuning is probably going to be the most PITA, the rest of it is just turning wrenches and checking for fitment maybe bend something here or cut something there.

I have drove a GT-R they are very quick, and handle awesome. I did beat one in a 1/4 mile one time (with my built challenger has a SC'd 426 w/ methanol injection), but the GTR wasn't really made to drive in a strait line (not saying it doesn't do a damn good job of it), however on a coarse they kill it IMO and are still by far one of the funnest cars I have had the opportunity to track.

Exactly, the GT-R is my track tool and the GT86 is more of a DD - a really fun one

And the wait for UPS, they are 6 minutes later than their normal drop off, god I hate waiting this is the worst part about modding anything is waiting for the carriers the day the parts are coming, at least we have decent weather today so I shouldn't have to move the vehicles around to get the car in the garage will just do the work in the drive today I think.

Today I have the pully's, CAI, and ECUTEK tuner arriving, now just waiting for the nice fellows in CA to return my call to talk about tuning

Picture of the water pump installed, was the easiest out of the 3. Finally got the crank pulley installed as well it was dark out by time I got it done so will add some pictures of it tomorrow. the alternator is going to have to wait till I can get my impact back from the kid brother as soon as I do it will be going on though.

With the crank pulley the crank key came off but I was able to get it back in correctly, everything torqued back down started fine (idled high as shit though 2100, don't think I have ever seen it idle that high before but after warmed up it idled back around 500 like normal.) Ran it around the bloack seemed to have no issues. Will have a better review in a couple of days when the roads are more friendly to drive spirited.

Now just to find some of the other missing pulleys in Red that Perrin doesn't make.

and off topic picture for the day.....

Lady friend and her early christmas present I present to you the 91", 35lb teddy bear lol.

(excuse the crap on the floor I live in my house and while it is clean sometimes in the evenings I just throw crap on the floor to be picked up in the morning)

pics of crank pulley on too, still searching for my impact so that I can do the alternator I have tried a couple different methods to do it without one and have not been successful. However did get the Perrin CAI on today. Bumper is clipped back on will put on the fasteners and screw back in tomorrow. What a PITA it was taking that thing off the first time. Should only be coming off 1 more time until the body kit gets here. And then 1 time after that (as of now anyways haha, I so need some kind of a locking quick release for that damn thing would be much better IMO for those of us who are under the hood all the time.

Anyways without further ado I give to you pictures of today's work
