Radar Detectors and laser jammers
my friend runs an old radar detector in his genesis,
and I drove his car for about 3 months while he was away, it saved me a couple times just wondering if anyone is running any more modern detectors? and brand names that people have had good success with? also if anyone has any success with laser jammers? I was looking into them but it seems the good ones are from crotia and they dont have good customer service on this side of the world I have been looking into the escort passport max, but it seems like it could be overkill |

Valentine 1, excellently threat detection
Laser Interceptor, best jammer, sold in Florida with great customer support Passport 9500ix , GPS detection is the key for me, wish V1 had this feature All 4 cars have V1, minivan has LI , I install Passport as well for long journeys

I have the Escort 9500ci. Absolutely love it and it has saved me more times then I can count. It has 360 degree radar and front and rear laser jammers. Some other companies sell stronger jammers but I have never seen the need for it.
I also own a 9500ix, V1, and a passport max that I use for trips when not in my car (since the 9500ci is built in). Max is definitely the best. 9500ix and V1 comes down to whether you prefer the v1 arrows or the 9500 GPS. I prefer the GPS, arrows seem pointless to me, if there is a cop nearby I will slow down, dont really care where he is. I have run the v1, 9500ci, and 9500ix all at the same time to test response times for work. I did this on a road trip from VA to NY and back. 9500ci was always fastest, then 9500ix, then v1. I also used to own a Calibre K40. It was a good system however it is detectable and I live in VA. As soon as I got a ticket for that I got rid of it. Didn't mind it when I had it, but after upgrading to the 9500ci I realized how crucial having a built in display was. (K40 just had LEDs) These are all just my experiences with them, I also sell the Passport systems through my shop so I may be a bit biased, but we have put hundreds of 9500ci systems on the road and every customer loves them. |

I wouldn't buy anything Escort. I have had multiple in the past and always had problems. The most recent is a Passport IQ I sent back 5 times under warranty due to it visibly working (all lights / scroll bars illuminated), but picking up zero radar (sporadically). I had to send in videos on thumb drive of it not working the third time in. The final time I sent it in I had a dashcam video of me pulled over by CHP getting a ticket as I hard reset the unit 5 times. On the 5th reset it starts reading the CHP radar as the officer is parked behind me already writing the ticket.
Do not buy escort. You will not be able to trust their product, and they will place the burden of proof on you if you claim it is not working properly. |
