Anyone installed Cusco Street Zero-A??

I am shopping for a set of coilovers, and have read many good things about KW V3, but I am thinking about Cusco Street Zero-A, because I have the braces, tower, sway bars from them, and want to stay with one brand for all suspension. Maybe those shampoo marketing strategies are stuck in my brain, 'ABC brand shampoo would work best with ABC conditioner'.

Anyways, I would like to know your review of the Cusco Street Zero-A coilovers, pros/cons.

Thank you very much!

A few of the Nz guys run them. Our trd dealer also sells cusco. So we get good pricing.

I looked into them and both guys I talked to rated them highly.

I can't comment myself. I ended up getting teins as I got a ridiculous deal on them.

I have the Cusco street zero A's on my ride. I have the ones without the pillow ball mounts, I did not want to deal with any added noise vibration or harshness. In fact I found this suspension to transmit slightly less road noise that the stock, nothing earthshattering, but it is slightly quieter.

I have about 5K miles on them so far and they are pretty good. I have never experienced any odd noises; squeaks or clunks that someother people get with other models of coilovers. Some people get spring pop or other noises on other coilovers, but I have never heard a peap out of these.

Ride quality is pretty good, you will notice larger bumps ecspecially if there is rapid change in road hight I assume this is due to the stiffer springs. On the other hand it is more compliant and is more comfortable on small surface iregularrities ie. rumble strips and pavement bubbles.

And the adjustability settings are pretty good, there is quite a range of stiffness available in this, I would never use the stiffest setting unless I was on a road that I knew was smooth as glass, and the softest setting is comparable to slighlty stiffer than stock.

I'm no suspension guru, but I beleive this is a quality all around suspension, I would not want to have anything stiffer than this for a DD. I have never had a chance to ride in a car with a KW setup so I can only use the stock suspension as a reference.

Hope this helps, if you have any other questions specific to the install or something let me know.

Hi JT86,

I have been running the Cusco Street Zero A coilovers for about 1500kms now and I am finding them a bit noisy. I got the ones with the works ie: pillow balls mounts etc and I find they are making spring pop noise over bumps. I thought that was just how they were but since you have reported that yours are quieter than stock I'm a bit confused. Do you think there is anything wrong with mine? Anything you can recommend that I check out?

I really wanted coilovers that were really quiet so the noise is really getting on my nerves.

Thanks.

I know what you mean, when you spend more money than you wanted and did not get what you were aiming for that would get on my nerves too.

The only reason that I could think you are getting these noises is from the pillow ball mounts. Being that these are the same exact strut/spring combo that has to be the difference. Both the rears and the fronts use the oem top hats they both utilize the oem rubber bushings on top of the spring retainer, if that is what they are called.

I chose specifically not to use pillowball mounts because I have read that almost all of them increase noises. Then the quality among them vary so much that you have to really spend alot of money in order to get a quality set.

With the use of camber bolts I got my alignment done and the shop had no problem adjusting it within limits. So at least for my usage I really felt no need to get pillowball mounts/camber plates even though they do add to the eye candy.

The only thing I could reccomend is maybe swaping the oem top hats on the fronts and see if it goes away. I'm not a suspension expert, but I would assume its the fronts that make more noise due to the way they shift and move.

Thanks heaps for your advice. I will try that and see how it goes. I will let you know how I go. Thanks again.
