Hi, MR2 Turbo guy getting a Scion FRS

Just wanted to say Hi to everybody.

I've been a long time Toyota guy and it only seems natural for me to progress to the Scion FRS. The FRS will be my daily driver and the MR2 will always be the garage queen/weekend warrior.

I haven't gotten the FRS yet, but I'm 100% going through with getting one. I'm looking to get the Ultramarine blue but the dealership said that those are near impossible to get (I'm in Ontario, Canada). Hopefully they can find me one without having to wait too long.

I was originally thinking about trading in my MR2 turbo but I'm going to keep it now. The dealership is going to give me peanuts for my MR2 so forget it.

Here are some pics of my old-school Toyota.

It's just a gen3 3sgte with bolt-ons and water/meth injection.

Hopefully within the next month I will be in an Ultramarine FRS

UPDATE July 6, 2013

Well, I FINALLY got it

The dealership was in awe at how sexy the colour was. They've never seen a blue one yet. They all agreed that it was the best colour

Big shout out goes to Steve at Heffner Toyota/Scion/Lexus. Without him, this deal wouldn't have ever been so easy and smooth. The best car salesman I've ever dealt with. Truly amazing service. Steve was a pleasure to deal with and went above and beyond! Thank you, Steve, you're the best.

Anyways, here are some quick camera phone pics.

I took delivery with only 15kms. YES, 15kms!!! Here's the odometer showing a bit more since I took this picture once I got home.

I did say I was a Toyota guy, right?

Thanks for viewing and I'm officially a part of the club now

Geography plays a huge role in a cars pricing. In California, an mr2 turbo is worth nothing because they're everywhere. But where I live, Canada, MR2 turbos are extremely rare (Japan only sent them to Canada for 91-93) so that dictates a higher value here.

To be honest, I was looking to get close $10k for my mr2. I know that might be quite a bit high for the car but here in Canada, that's actually a good deal for clean 20+ year-old car, no rust, and mechanically perfect. Especially since I live in the rust/snow belt, having no rust on the car adds quite a bit of value. Original paint and in good condition too.

The dealer told me $7200. I laughed and said I that I'm much better off keeping it. The wheels alone are worth $3000.

Anyways, I'm extremely excited to add an FRS to my stable. Hopefully very soon. Within the next month.

TRUE!

I still think it looks better than the FRS. The MR2 has some sort of "exotic'ness" about it. It's called a "poor mans Ferrari" for a reason. The MR2's styling is timeless and I always still catch myself doing the turn-around to look at the car. Not to say that the FRS isn't sexy because it's gorgeous! But I still think the MR2 looks better even if it's 20+ year's old.

I'm keeping it.

I remember when I had mine everybody used to look at the car. The shifting was awsome , was precise. I haven't had manual transmission like that one yet. I liked the headlights and how they pop up... definitely a real sport cars

I really love those MR 2's (it most definitely looks like a mini Ferrari) and don't blame you for keeping it. That said, I think you will really love the FR-S too
