Where is each AS1 car built?

Hi,

i searched the forums but did not find an answer, so please help me out: where is the gt86 and brz built?

What plant is it and are there differences between ft86, brz and fr-s in the places or is it just one birthplace for all?

Thanks!

I've been reading this one thread for a while now...
I think all the GT86/FR-S/BRZ will roll out of the Fuji plan
in Gunma and if they can roll out 50k units per a year...
I can see this mix at least for the initial offering ...
10K Japan 10K Europe 10K USA 10K Asia and 10K left for every where else ((ie canada))
The real interesting thing will be the MIX in production numbers...
such as how many BASE Toyota models, and so on because Toyota has 3
trim levels for Right Hand Drive ...
the US spec Scion FR-S will be the mind-range toyota spec with different badges..
and Left hand drive ...
and Subaru will have a mix of Mid-range to Limited for Right hand drive and Left hand drive.

and not to mention 6SP vs 6SP auto

50K a year is way to high...think more like 25k a year at best.

I don't know about that. Both price, performance and practicality-wise the AS1 is about even with the RSX/DC5 Integra, and Honda sold 20k+ of those every year in the US alone.

Mmmm good point, yet those cars where not first year production launches. I too wonder how many of these will be pumped out per year.

No way it's just 25k worldwide, unless they limit production.

Don't feel too bad, the search ignores a lot of three letter and/or common words.

It's Gunma plant of Fuji Heavy Industry.

There is a Subaru video showing the assembly line of the AS1. I think it was posted back 4-5 weeks ago. Good watch.

Rumour has it one of the reasons Toyota and Subaru are doing this it to bail Subaru out of its finansial messes caused by high-cost yet not commercially successful K-cars and keep the Gunma Plant alive. I am skeptical about the theory, but won't comment until we see all the pieces of the puzzle.
