All BRZ orders in Australia are through the website. Wait time is currently 13+ months for all colours.

Subaru Australia could only secure 40 cars per month.

I understand that the allocation numbers are low, but I more wanted to understand why only 40 was decided on? Is there not a market for the car? Canada isn't a very big market either (especially for RWD cars), but the wait isn't nearly as bad. Seems strange.

It could have been due tp the fact that Subaru Australia seemed to take a very long time to decide if they were actually going to import the car. They were worried about the messing with the exclusively all wheel drive range they had here in Australia. By the time they made a decision, maybe they had missed out securing more cars.

Also probably a lot less right hand drive cars made / allocated in the factory, compared to left hand drive for North America.

All speculation of course.

I think it was a combination of clever people at Toyota AU and not so clever people at Subaru AU. And it sucks. I'm still think about ordering one, to either keep or flog on car sales.

Because apparently Subaru Australia doesn't like money.

It's also maddening to hear about how there are BRZs in North America (and probably elsewhere) just sitting on car lots waiting for buyers.

It's an incredibly stupid state of affairs, IMO. They really should dump a bunch of extras into the Australian market like Toyota is doing.

Scratch that, they have! Just took 'em a while to announce it.

Good things come to those who wait?

I do really hate that saying. Patiently waiting. 3 months into my 12 month wait.
