Best way to secure a GT MT?

Haven't bought a new car before, and I know I'm incredibly late to the party, but is the best way to secure a GT to call as many dealers as possible for unallocated stock?

I've got a list of every dealer based on its distance from where I live.

Is that the best plan of action? or is there a central Toyota number that can tell me unallocated stock for my state?

I'm pretty much after Grey or Silver. Not too fussed if I have to wait until next year, but the sooner the better obviously

At this point a shotgun approach as you described might be your best bet. Also try and call dealers further away fron you, not just in your local area (like a 400+ radius)
If I was after this at the moment I would pretty much call every dealer in the country to see stock levels lol

Just keep calling every dealer.

be ready for some backlash from dealers while you are trying to jump the queue and find who has stock... My friend was trying with every dealer and got abused quite a few times

This is how I got my GTS - involved a 400k journey, found a few GT's in showrooms for sale but only one GTS that was still being built. Didn't get any abuse about queue jumping.

You may or may not receive abuse from other people who are waiting their turn though, but rest assured, even if they don't say it, some will be thinking it.

Everyone has the right to do it anyway, no point getting angry. The thing is you will get one if you aren't fussy about colour. A mate of mine got one before me without ordering and I wasn't upset because he wasn't offered identical to mine. I was happy to wait a bit longer and get exactly waht I want.

Apologies if my post implied I was angry. I most certainly am not. I'm quite happy with my current daily, and will actually really miss it once it's gone, so I'm glad to get an extra year or whatever of driving it.

And dont be scared to call the dealers that are across the great divide that is Bass Strait.

Start with Gowans in Devonport, then try Launceston Toyota and then Co-Op Toyota in Hobart

I got mine easily here (Gowans, ask for Mike Maria) and it was an unallocated car they were prepping to put on the showroom floor.

Launceston has a silver GT ex demo available right now. Has tint and protection done and when I last checked it was over priced. But it has sat there for well over a month now. Time to deal

You could then do a lap of the map before you take it home

Actually the Silver GT had no plate on it now I think about it (I drive past it every day) so it might be a new one (and prolly auto) as their demo is no longer on their website.

I believe the best way would to go purchase a Glock, wait around for someone to drive past and go all GTA on them..
Also save the added hassle of paying for the car, all you are paying for is the $900-1200 on the Glock.

And as a bonus, you get to mow motherfuckers down..

Additional bonus, when you get caught and thrown in jail, there'll be more sex than you could ever want.

Who says an 86 won't get you laid.
