Greddy water-cooled oil cooler kit
Greddy has released a kit for the GR86/BRZ that routes the coolant to a core before going back into the OEM regulator.
https://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/m...-12015700.html ![]() I'd suppose at that price point, one would just opt for an air-to-oil cooler but what would be the advantages of this setup? At the top of my head is that coolant is cheaper than oil and with the reduced risk of spilling oil.

Looks like a glorified Cusco oil cooler. Interesting idea and could have some advantages. But I think most would either do the Forester XT retrofit or just get an air oil cooler.

I'm wondering how effective it really is. I like the idea because it eliminates thermostatic plate and spacer from the equation.

Maybe they're trying to give an additional buffer to the temp by adding an additional coolant core, rather than increasing potential oil pressure drop with an external cooler and lines.
Anyone who has the existing solution could add a radiator in-line to see what difference it makes. Very much interested

I thought these bullet points spoke volumes:
・Although it is a specification that assumes street use, it has been repeatedly tested at the circuit and commercialized. This item is recommended for those who are concerned about the oil temperature rising during sports driving on the street or winding roads. ・Please install the air-cooled GReddy Oil Cooler Kit Standard ZN8/ZD8 10-stage Circuit Spec (CODE: 12014641) when performing continuous laps or drifting |

Coolant only runs through the core when the thermostat is opened. It will definitely warm up the oil.

How the coolant warms the oil is via the regulator... but if the coolant now has to circulate thru the core, that wouldn't warm the oil as fast as previously since colder coolant will now go to the regulator?
