2022 remotes on old cars
Do you know if the new remotes can be paired to old models, or at least if the electronics is swappable?

But why? The keyless fobs look the same as the older keyless fobs.

They are identical on the BRZ but a huge improvement on the Toyotas.... I can see why someone will want them and technically should assume are the same wireless.

Thanks, do you know if electronic is swappable? Japanese and US remotes operate at different frequuencies from EU ones, so there is still no compatble spare parts available.

Show me the insides of your remote, and I'll take mine apart.

I am in the UK , and we have both Subaru having the new design and Toyota having the older design, so wireless compatibility should not be an issue for Gen 1.
Toyota is using the Subaru key remote for GR86. Having said that , I haven't seen anyone make a swap ... Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk |

Thanks, it had been very useful. The electronics is definitely different shaped, I'd need to wait for a compatible version.
