Deebeaux's Hot Lava 6MT FR-S
Well despite being told 2 months on 07/7/12 then 2 weeks on 07/14/12, I took delivery of my car late last night on 07/25/12. Late enough to close the dealership with the remaining 4 employees.
I wasn't supposed to get it yesterday as it showed up late, at about 4:45pm I received this picture from my salesman: ![]() I took some pre-delivery pictures of the car. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And the final shot before I took her home (this one is clickable for larger version!) I wasn't planning on picking up the car so all I had was my cell phone. Wish I would have brought my DSLR to get some good 1st day pics. I'll do a better job detailing it then the dealer did and get some shots soon. ![]() Mods coming soon.

Wow, I totally forgot I already had a "build thread." So far there's two mods done to the car (well, three...)
First thing I did was a set of the Gimmick Motorsports hood struts, install went smooth and they work great. My 86 is no longer the only car in my stable that won't hold the hood up on it's own... ![]() Next thing I did was inspired by the "DIY Rear foglight" post on these forums. I wanted something a little different and after a little bit of cutting/grinding/splicing I came up with this... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PbVWdo1nEc"]Scion FR-S / Toyota 86 Rear Fog as Brake Light - YouTube[/ame] I really liked F N' A's offering that accomplishes the same thing, but it was a bit more than I wanted to spend ($150+shipping). I'm sure it's a nicer unit that what I've put together. I'm using a 3157 bulb (although I would NOT do it again that way, it's too large to fit into the housing really. It was really a shoehorn job. If I had to do it again I'd probably do a 7443) paired with a 45-LED Tower from SuperBrightLEDs.com and the Pulsar unit from CoupeConcepts.com. Total cost on this setup was around $60-$65. So less than half the cost of a commercially available kit. UP NEXT: I've got an Airaid intake on the car, it sounds and works great, but a vendor I work with gave me an aFe Takeda for Christmas and I think I'm going to switch to it because the Airaid is a bit flashy for my tastes. It's too "hey, look at me, I'm an intake and I'm branded Airaid" for me. So it'll be for sale after this weekend. It's got less than 200mi on it. I've also ordered Scott McPhee's Tapturn as I have this feature in my Golf and I really miss it. I'm also really torn between the Invidia N1 and Q300 exhausts. Learning towards Q300 because I'm sadly getting older and being as loud as possible isn't as appealing as it used to be. Oh, and window tint...dammit I need tint.

![]() Nothing very exciting yet, but finally got around to installing the aFe Takeda last weekend. I like the sound of this better, can't really tell a performance difference over the Airaid or this one, but I certainly like the aesthetics of this one better. UP NEXT: The Tapturn I mentioned earlier showed up, will slap that in this weekend. Q300 is definitely next. Autodimming Homelink mirror is also not far behind now, will probably have radar display mounted in the mirror too. Still unsure about which forced induction route to take, so many options, just sitting back and watching for now.
