PSA - Sony XAV-AX100 Owners - Update Available
Hey everyone,
I know the Sony XAV-AX100 is a popular Android Auto/Apple Carplay retrofit head unit and a few folks here have it. There was just an update released this month that makes the startup nag screen auto-dismiss after 5 seconds. Takes about 5 minutes to install via USB drive. Take a look on your region's Sony site for the update and detailed instructions. I don't know how region-specific these head units are, so I don't want to link it directly. Greg |

I have been looking at this unit, I have a joying model which is ok, but the call quality on the joying sucks, also the navi isn't the best. Have been wanting to have get android auto, is this hu a better option?

I just installed one of these in my girlfriends Beetle. It's pretty okay. Very straightforward menus. Less options than my pioneer unit, but sounds pretty good imo. If I had any gripes about the unit so far it would be that the wiring harness didn't come pre stripped, so it took me an extra 15 minutes to put it together. Otherwise pretty pleased with the Sony.
