How much movement in Dynamic Tensioner pulley

Hey Guys,

I had a drive belt and tensioner pulley break on me on the weekend. I have replaced both but just wanted to check how much movement is normal in the dynamic tension pulley at idle.

Mine at the moment is probably moving about 5mm each way.

I'm thinking if this is not normal I may still have some rubber from the previous belt affecting another pulley.

Cheers.

Good point.
I meant option number one: tightening and easing up on the belt tension.
