Which oil pressure sensor, and which method of mounting?
I've got the P3Cars vent gauge, and my understanding is it's pretty easy to attach an oil pressure sensor to it so that it can read that too. I'm thinking of buying the AEM 30-2131-100 oil pressure sensor. It's brass, and much less expensive than the stainless steel AEM 30-2130-100. I'm not looking for high accuracy necessarily -- ballpark is sufficient. I would like reliability though -- it shouldn't fail after a year or two of NVH. Would I increase reliability by mounting it -- instead of directly into the usual place -- instead mounting it a few inches out, attached to a flexible extender of some kind, so that vibrations aren't transmitted to the oil pressure sensor?
Is this even a thing or am I imagining it?

I think while it technically could be a thing, sensors like this are intended to be mounted right to the motor, so don't worry. I have had AEM and STRi sensors mounted right to my block or other components subjected to extreme heat/motor movement for many, MANY miles and years without failure.

Make sure that AEM sensor is 0-5v as a lot of the sensors are .5-4.5v.
I went with the ProSport oil pressure sender (after I confirmed the voltage readings with them) and also bought the harness that they sell. I used the galley port adapter that I snagged off ebay and wired it all in. Works just fine. |

What are the implications of the sender not putting out a range of 0-5v and instead putting out 0.5-4.5, which is what the AEM puts out?

The p3 gauge wants 0-5v and you can't change that. It means that the readings will be off.

Hi all. For those that used the ProSports one, is this the sender you got? Link
e1_griego: Was this the harness you got? Will I need any other wires to hook this up to the p3? Link Do I need the additional galley port adapter? Could you please provide the ebay link? Can I use this ProSports one? Link Thanks!

Blitz FLD Meter
I used this & I fukn love it ! Gauge is made for the BR86 vent as you can see & the compact sender is a perfect fit to swap out the oem sender in that same location - just love it

Yup, that's what I got. Just get any galley adapter. I got one with a copper crush washer included.
Just follow this guide for the wiring: http://www.p3cars.com/install#Analog_Inputs I ended up cutting the plug and just hardwiring everything in. |

Is the ProSport wiring harness long enough to reach from the ProSport pressure sender all the way to the P3Cars vent gauge?
