Wired86's 2016 Ltd MT Crystal Black Silica BRZ

Hey guys, today marks about 2 weeks since owning the car. I thought it was time to start my journal.

So far I am loving the car. It is my DD and will be throughout the summer, fall, and maybe even the winter until I can get something else as my DD.

The first few days on the MT were pretty rough due to my inexperience on a MT. I mostly have the hang of it now and am driving with ease. Even put it in VSC once already and did some oversteer in a parking lot. Oh man, did my face light up.

I have almost broken 1k miles and will soon be done with the break in period.

My first mod is purchased and on its way to me. I will be replacing the side markers with Helix Dark Smoke side markers. It is a minor mod for my first, but it should look nice.

My next mods in mind are some rims (probably black), tires (some sort of summer performance), some custom plates, new plate holders (looking at the Yospeed billet alluminum BRZ plate holders), maybe a suspension mod, and then possibly an exhaust mod.

I have thought about a turbo or supercharger, but in my opinion (for now at least) I would prefer to mod the car in order to either make it even better at what it already does well, or slight appearance mods. I know there's a lot of conversation about it needing more HP, but I think this car rewards in other areas. I think that it is not intended to beat other sporty cars in a drag race. It is intended to dramatically outmatch the competition in handling and cornering. Therefore, I intend to make it even better at doing that, and to make it look even better while doing it.

Out for a drive with friends, BRZ(mine), an 86' Supra(survivor car), and an 05' 350Z.

Got those side markers in last night. It was actually pretty easy to do. I threw some amber LEDs in behind the markers to keep it legal in WI. It looks really nice.

Had an exciting drive today. Wrx hatch drove past on the highway and gave me a head nod and a huge smile. Hit 1000 miles on my odometer. And just after that parked and had a jimmy johns driver roll past really slowy taking a picture of my car.

Seems like there aren't a lot of 86's in Oshkosh? I'm seeing more and more of them here in Milwaukee. I still get a lot of attention though.

If I am not mistaken I am one of a kind in Oshkosh. Never have seen another one here, and there isn't any listed on the car map in the thread stickied in the general forums. This was not in Oshkosh though. Made a weekend trip to my alma mater, UW Platteville to spend time with friends. Wrx encounter was in madison on the beltline and the 1k miles was literally the second I rolled off the highway into platteville, lol. Then the JJ driver saw me pull in and turned around to take pics.

After hitting 1k miles on the odometer I took it out for some spirited driving in the hills, country roads, and twisties of the Driftless Region near Platteville and found a great spot for a picture.
