Dragon run tomorrow, Feb 28th

Tomorrow's weather looks good for a run through Deals Gap (The Dragon). Anyone interested?

If I were closer and not studying for two finals on Monday I'd be all over this. Definitely something I'm doing in a year or so.

I can't do Monday, traveling next week. Let me know next time you go on a weekend night and I can probably make it.

Should this be the regional section or is it something we can all enjoy?

It is something we can all enjoy! You would need to average 130 mph to get here in time from Utah though.

Today's weather is going to be perfect for a dragon run, but the warm weather and the weekend will bring out the tourists and their SUVs. The weather has been shit here all week, rain, high winds, and lower than average temps.

I did a dragon run about 2 weeks ago on a weekday. Drove down to Tellico Plains and took the Cherohala Skwy over to Robbinsville, NC and then 129N up to the dragon.

If you are going to do a midnight run I'd wait a few more weeks. The temps here have been up and down and we have been getting frost at night.

Weekday runs are the best. 9 am in the summer on a Tuesday/Wednesday is perfect. I think this afternoon should be fairly free of tourist due to time of year, but you make a good point!
