More Reports of FR-S / 86 Convertible Being on Indefinite Hold

There have now been multiple reports that the Scion FR-S / Toyota 86 Convertible may be a stillborn, and may not see the production line, at least for the next couple of years.

WhatCar now reports that a droptop FR-S has delayed indefinitely, with no place in Toyota’s product plan in either 2014 or 2015. It’s thought that the project could be ‘fast-tracked’ if the management decide to re-start it at a later date, though; with much of the engineering work completed, that could be a relatively quick process.
