Making a breakthrough product is great, but being unable to meet demand is even worse as it could potentially damage customer experience and belief in the brand - judging by some people's experience here ...

Honestly, I've been waiting at least two years already for this, whats a few more months. Gives time for issues to show themselves.

I heard this too, that the 86 was going to be a limited production run and then they would stop building it.
Seems hard to believe but if true.... resale value would be good :-) and you'd even want to buy a white GTS and garage it for 50 years and see what it's worth then! assuming petrol is still around of course :-) |

If my wait time exceeds January, then I will reclaim my deposit. Will just pick one up second hand if I am going to be fed BS and wait 18 months to pay full price

Wow, some people are ignorant. You ait 12months for a new VW... And they aren't limited production cars!!
It was said from the start there wouldn't be many of these around yet people STILL whinge about a wait time?? If you wanted ti early you could ahve done what the rest of us did and order before it was released.... Use your brains. You can't be mad at your dealers, or even TMCA, for the waits. The factory is only capable of producing 100,000 cars annual and that's for the WHOLE WORLD..... And that's both 86 and BRZ..... |

Likelyhood is ofcourse that someone else will pull out of the pruchase of their identical machine and I will get a chance to get it earlier.
I am actually happy to wait, but only if I am not 'pushed back' every month. Gives me more time to save money and have a smaller loan

My point is that this was always going to be a limited car with long waits. A guy I know order a hilux in march and sin't expecting it until September...... If a dealer gets 10x people want order from him, it isn't his fault.... He isn't going to tell them to go elsewhere..... People need to stop whinging about the wait. Sure, it's a long time, but we all knew there weren't going to be many cars. As said early, you wait that long for a VW and they aren't a limited run sports car..... |

Guess what genius, my point states that your post is leaning on a argument with no foundational evidence or support. My point is to contradict your comment on people using their brain where some did, they where the first few to order and put a deposit yet they still have to wait because tmca didn't set a national allocation program where each dealer gets what they ordered in the order of persons.. not just random stock to random dealers.. |
