Ya the seatbelt rubs on my neck without using the strap. Im scared to use the strap tho because I've seen the top rip off in the demo cars. But like someone else mentioned, collared shirt has worked well.

I'm not using the strap with my seatbelt but the belt itself has unsnapped it a couple of times. It takes very little force to unsnap it.

Based on that, and the photos I've seen, I'm guessing the damage was done not by the belts, but by someone using the loop to adjust the seat and then pulling it off. All the ones I saw photos of damage for was the top connection, not the snap.

Just a thought, YMMV.

I thought it was just me . Adjusted my seating position, that seemed to help. Need to dial in the seat some more for better comfort

yeah it rubs mine just a bit, but i use the straps, and am very careful when i pull the seat belt out, i might need to either sit higher or lower, (i haven't decided yet) but i sit pretty far back. (might changed once i do the clutch pedal engagement point mod)

Some people have big necks. Test: If you have a dress shirt, can you button the very top button??

I bought Tom's shoulder seatbelt pads, what a dream. I'll take a pic later. Very comfortable, and a cool red color to match the interior.

JDM yo!

I'm 6'1". The belt goes through the loop. Works great for me. Though on the passenger side, the seatbelt seems to be scraping and creating bubbles (not sure how to describe it) basically looks like it's digging into it. Almost like a chain mark or something. The seatbelt doesn't seem to be overly sharp/rough at any spots, and I did have to repair that exact same spot straight from the dealer so I don't know if it's just starting to eat into where it was repaired. Anyone else noticed this? Any suggestions what I could do?

I use the belt guide on the seat. I've recently noticed the seat belt itself is starting to fray a tiny bit on the edge where it rubs against the guide.

I'm not bothered, if either part wears excessively and/or is deemed unsafe, it'll be straight back under warranty for replacement.

Scion knows about this problem and I hope they have a TSB to fix it before the NHTSA start yet another recall....

I'm 5'10" and use my seat in some-what of a laid back position and the seat belt doesn't bother me at all. My wife (passenger) likes to set in a more up-right position and has to use one of the fur sleeves.

Yup, seatbelts are in a horrible standard position. No car I have ever been in puts the belt so high. I can only imagine what people under 5'9 feel like(which many Asians are). All they need to do is lower the attachment point on the side of the car. Why they couldn't figure this out prior to production is beyond me.

Honda doesn't know which side to put the rear window fluid sprayer on so half your window gets cleaned, while Subaru fails at seatbelt placement.

My neck was red from the belt after a 12 hr non-stop drive to Myrtle Beach. But around town, not an issue.

ordered this one for the brz. I'm 6'0 and find I'm constantly adjusting the guide so the belt isn't choking me. The retraction is too tight compared to other cars.

I'm curious if there's something like a triangle sleeve that pulls the shoulder belt a little lower. I'm not sure if that's the correct term, but I imagine it's one piece basically connects the waist belt and shoulder belt, resulting in something that pulls the shoulder belt a tiny bit; hopefully resulting in no neck rubbing. Anyone have an idea of what I'm trying to describe or am I just talking nonsense >.<

I'm 5ft 6in, and I put the seat all the way down for best center of gravity, and I got a workout neck and it rubs hard when I'm not using straps. If I put the seat up all the way then it wont rub, so yeah, I just confirmed that it really depends on how tall you are and how high or low you wanna go..

Really these are about the most stupid thing anyone can use as they work against the seatbelt pre-tensioner in new cars.

^^^ This must be why the seat belt is freaking choking me everytime I brake hard before a turn. I was wondering why sometimes the seatbelt felt like it was tightening on its own. What I feel like I need is a modification of the seat belt guide where it can hold the belt in a loose position to overcome the pretensioner so the car doesn't choke me whenever I drive spirited...
