About a month ago, we were contacted by a Regional Director for Scion about setting a date for a release party and we were given a "media release form" that we had to sign to consent to being filmed and miked. We set the date the earliest we could, May 16th, based on when Scion expected the car to arrive here in Las Vegas. The car arrived much earlier than expected, on the 2nd, but we had to wait due to the coordination required between Scion and Desert Scion of Las Vegas - our chosen dealership. We had an out of state trip planned for the week prior to the 16th anyway, so we kept a positive attitude about having to wait. Well the date has finally come, and although I wanted to share our experience and get these pictures up last night, we've just been having too much fun driving and showing off! Event was great - good music, good food, great people from the local Scion Club, fellow forum members, and Scion corporate guys!
Congratulations!!! Awesome pics of your white FRS. Best photos I've ever seen of that color....and the scenery and all....spectacular! Thanks for sharing. Really nice treatment from the Toyota/Scion folks to make it special for you guys! Driving impressions??? When ya'll get a chance to share. We need to know if Sho is pleased with performance, likes it better than the xB, etc.???

Stunning, simply stunning. I'm getting so jealous of all that have received their car at this point. I'm starting to get extremely frustrated with my scion dealership. I have not heard once single effing word from them since I made my deposit, seems like I went to the worst possible dealership ever.

Enjoy your car though man, it looks brilliant.

Congrats!

Your photos captured the action of the event very well.. and those scenery shots are just incredible. You two definitely know the good roads in your area!

We love what Sho did with her t-shirt -- so creative! She is the first person to customize something from bestwheelbase. Rock on with yo bad self!

Lol so that's why you were always off to the sides.

Great shots on location dude, glad to have met you guys at the event!

Congrats to both of you! Hopefully my dealer won't do anything like this because I just want to do the paperwork and gtfo and drive!

She hasn't revved hard yet, but the shifts are so smooth, ride is on-rails, and seats are just right. Obviously they are much different cars. She didn't really take issue with the driving position, but obviously it's a change for her from driving the Scion Short Bus, so she's been trying to find the perfect "feel" between the wheel and her seat.

But yeah, she loves it and has a smile on her face whenever she gets in it.

Thanks. The Scion guys LOVED her shirt by the way. Seriously, I think they were more interested in that shirt than anything else about the event. Half interested in the shirt to begin with, and half interested in what other handiwork Sho could bring to spice up a tee.

Lol, I tried to avoid it as much as possible. They wanted me in the passenger seat when they filmed her driving off the lot, but since I wasn't in any of the other footage, I'm not sure if it would have made any sense for the whole "story" they were trying to tell. Funny how they wanted to do reshoots a bunch of times, like when we arrived or meeting the Scion guys in the dealership. Almost felt scripted...

Again, great meeting you and your friends too. There were a bunch of Scikotics members there at a later point as well - but I didn't talk to any of them. Kind of awkward...

Wow, congrats!

I got all excited when I saw this thinking that Desert Scion had a firestorm demo FRS as described in the first post. They don't, at least not anymore. They wouldn't even answer my question as to whether or not there had been one, just kept trying to tell me about how there was this contest and they had a winner and....luckily they didn't get my phone number so I won't get stalked by the stealership.

Anyway, they claim they'll have some actual cars to see June 1st.

Yeah, the Firestorm demo was there pretty much only while we were there. I'm pretty sure it was brought by the Scion corporate guys (had a Colorado plate), and then they took it with them when they were done filming.

I've heard of other potential FRS buyers experiences with Desert not being quite so satisfactory. But they did quite right by us; at first (like a lot of other dealers), they were kind of out of the loop about the whole procedure, but our salesman Paulie was spectacular, keeping us up to date better than most First 86ers. Buying experience was better than average - no hard-sell when we took the financing out of their hands, or when we told them we'd take our trade elsewhere to get a better value. Just the usual finance office shenanigans. As I've said before, perhaps they just recognized that this sale had some publicity, so they went above and beyond.

I have to admit the owner has stolen the show. While FRS is definitely nice looking the lady is a total beauty! Good combo for sure! Congrats with the car
