it does shine well in the sun but otherwise, the metallic blue does seem a bit dull to me

If you are going by that last video I suspect the dullness there just reflects the use of a low-quality phone camera to shoot the video, other colors look washed out in it as well. I've seen other shadow shots in which the ultramarine pops much more.

The Subie has a bit more of an orange tint to its red, but the difference could easily be due to differing camera tech/white balances or car show lighting.

its the lighting/cameras, the 2 reds are identical.
the only 2 colors that are different are only available on one not the other.
hot lava on the FR-S, WR Blue on the BRZ

I'm thinking about doing the same thing as you as I am in no rush to buy this car brand new as my credit is jacked up really bad. Plus I rather buy in cash anyways and I have over 10k saved already. I'll just wait till it gets to 15-16k in 2-3 years.

I hope and pray that the FRS will be 15k in 3 years. I hope they're not hard to find neither.

Good luck getting your FRS!

I'll be seeing the FR-S this weekend! Let's see how close I can get. My family works for Toyota so I'm hoping I'll get to get some good photos.

Here are some pictures from the Scion iQ Ride-n-drive that Scion put on over the weekend. I wish I could have gotten better pictures but on account of the rain, wind and the FR-S being roped off it was difficult. It was an awesome event. I got to ride shotgun with AJ, race driver, and take a couple laps around in the iQ, quite impressed with the little car. Free kart racing, I was able to get 3 races in. Kogi foodtruck was there with free food. Even the rain didn't keep people away.

On to some photos:
