Theres one odd noise when entering my driveway. I need to try to replicate it though, but it may just be the springs "popping" as the suspension contorts. Other then that, there are no rattles or other weird noises. Its very solid.

I absolutely love it. The pearl in the paint stands out, and the grey on the wheels is nearly a perfect match.

Its a Grimmspeed setup. Hold off for an official announcement for it, we're still working out the measurements.

Well, I had to work up north overnight, and even though I promised myself I wouldnt take the FR-S to work, I gave in. I was very pleased with the mileage:

That fill-up was just under 9 gallons and worked out to be 32mpg. I wasn't stuck doing 55mph the entire way either. I was fluctuating my speed between 70 and ~85 the entire way with the A/C on, and for about 23 total miles I was in stop and go traffic. Im very pleased with those numbers. You can track my fuel mileage here too:

http://www.fuelly.com/driver/civicdrivr/frs-6mt

I also broke the 100 mile mark on her, and it was only fitting to do so at 86mph (on a closed course in Guatemala by a professional driver of course).

I'm currently at 359 miles and should have about 600 by Monday morning

I finally got a chance to drill a hole into the bumper plug to clean up the front bumper too:

Tomorrow the car will be clay barred, polished, and sealed in preperation for the Mid-Atlantic MegaMeet at P-Tuning on Sunday. I currently have an appointment for tint at 9AM Tuesday. Im keeping it legal, so don't expect blacked-out windows

Ouch. I have family in NY, so Im up there a few times a year. Both of my cars take premium, and the usualy 50 cent difference (sometimes more) really hurts.

Thats why I typically fill up on the Jersey Tpke, drive into NY, park my car, and drive my moms Accord so I only have to get regular. Even the difference between Jersey and NY is insane. Stupid taxes....

Well, when I ordered the car I specifically told the dealer not to mount the front plate or prep the car (wash it). They only listened to me for the first point

So, my friend and I did a full paint correction on the car yesterday. Most would say the car didn't need it, but Ive got OCD, and the slightest imperfection would bother the hell out of me. I couldn't get a lot of the imperfections to show up on the camera, but take my word for it, there were TONS of swirls and a few decent sized scratches from the dealer prep.

*Not pictured - scratches on both rear wheel arches, or multiple hard water spots

Steps
-Wash car with Black Ice car wash soap
-Clay bar entire car (removes particles that contaminate the paint during transport)
-Polish car with Optimum Polish II followed by Menzerma Super Finish, with an IPA wipe down after each
-Seal with Blackfire Wet Diamond

Taped up:

After Menzerna Super Finish but before sealant:

Letting BFWD haze:

Finished:

In short, the finish looks amazing. The orange peel is less then before. Even without the sealant, the paint had tons of gloss and looked very deep. The Wet Diamond (which I recommend for darker cars) adds even more depth and makes the car appear wet. I love it.

The entire process took about 12 hours to complete. But it was definitely worth it. Plus, it was in preparation for this:

Kayhettin was there, and PTuning was nice enough to let us both park under the tent right up front

Unfortunately most of my pics from the meet came out like crap. But from the amount of people that were taking pics of our cars, Im sure more will surface.

What should I expect to pay a trusted detailer to do this to my Dark Grey Metallic BRZ? Also, what do I ask them to do?

I had the same problem -- dealership washed the car even though I told them not to and they swirled/scuffed it with shitty wash etiquette. A couple hundred bucks later and my paint looks the way its supposed to.

So its ok my friend, you arent the only weirdo here with OCD about vehicle paint.
