FR-S same price as original AE86
...Adjusted for inflation that is.
It appears the MSRP in 1988 was $12.5k http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/1988-To...verview-t23120 So if you adjust for inflation that becomes about $24.5k in 2012 dollars. So the new 86 costs about the same as the old one, in relative terms.

Price was about the same for the AE86.
My AE86 cost $16,420 in 1986 in Canada. Jeff

Found a thread on club4ag, window sticker from a 1986 with typical options was $13k, which would be $27k today. A bare-bones version (no PS, no LSD, no AC, steel wheels, etc) would have been about $10,700 => $22,200.
