Bespoke stereo

This is a pic of the optional Bespoke unit. Price is going to be around $850.00. I need to learn more about it.

For now the smartphone features only interface w/ iOS. So Android & Windows Phone users are out of luck for now, but at least that's one less thing to consider buying.

Jack also mentioned Scion just signed off on features this week on the BeSpoke and that means it wont be available until at least 2 weeks after 1st86 deliveries.

Now that thing is respectable. Whatever comes in it's place to start with though isn't and would definitely be the first thing I'd change about my vehicle.

I feel like the $850 is bullshit considering that this same unit is available on the iQ for $449. Unless the $850 is including satellite radio.

I'll pass. I'd much rather take that money and put in an aftermarket unit with full screen color GPS with turn-by-turn directions...

like this JVC unit. Had a JVC in my Prelude and LOVED it!

Do we have a source for the 850$ price? Seems pretty steep.

I'm going to just install my JVC KW-AVX745 DD h/u. It has satellite, which is what I listen to most of the time. It also has bluetooth and I-pod/I-phone connection, so I can listen to that as well. Turn by turn nav using my I-phone is displayed on the screen as well.

The Scion guy in charge of accessories. His name was Corey but I thnk it was actually spelled with a K somehow, at least that's what's I remember from the name tag on his cube.

Can you provide more info or a link for this? Do you know if an Android app is planned? I plan to get the BRZ Limited, but an FRS with Bespoke is my fallback if something goes awry with the Subaru deal.

Wait I'm a bit confused. Does it required us to install an app on our phones, to do those point of interest searches and route planning? Or do we install the programs directly into Bespoke. Plus where is the push to talk button on the head unit? They said they were't going to put buttons on the wheel, so where are they gonna put it?

The way i read it, the BeSpoke requires a smartphone to function even for Navigation. it runs apps that use your phone for comm, GPS, etc. Not sure if the phone is the brains of the system or just a data modem/conduit. Personally just requiring the smartphone (And especially an iAnything) makes it a no-good for me. I'll stick to the standard unit and add aftermarket later if I want Navigation.

Having played with the standard unit I can say it reminds me a lot of my first girlfriend. She may not have been the prettiest but she did anything I wanted.

The way they linked it to a smartphone that way seems pretty weird. So right now if you run out of battery on your phone, it just goes back to being a normal head unit. Plus having your phone do all that, would drain the battery too.

I'm guessing they assume you'll plug your phone in. I would caution that I could be completely wrong, this is based on the press releases and the Zyphr site
