Aftermarket Pulleys and their weights

Hi all,
First of all I have no affiliation with ANY of the companies listed here. I am more than happy to be corrected or have some figures added to this table.

Basically, being in the market for a set of light weight pulleys I have put together a table to compare the brands, weights and their offering. As you can see some offer only the crank pulley others the whole set. Only one offers the 2 idlers in the set. At the top you can see the stock weight too. I couldnt find the Idler weight so if anyone knows it, please feel free to let me know and I will update it.

The price might change from vendor to vendor so you will have to hunt for the best deal.

So if anyone has any input please let me know.(please post the link/source of your info). Enjoy!

Great job compiling this information.

Just a correction for the Tomioka Alternator pulley, it is 0.15 lbs. http://ft86speedfactory.com/tomioka-...y-kit-781.html
Beatrush waterpump pulley - 0.75 lbs http://ft86speedfactory.com/beatrush...ulley-812.html
Beatrush alternator pulley - 0.17 lbs http://ft86speedfactory.com/beatrush...ulley-811.html

Should atleast put list or msrp prices. Those will never change and will give the buyer an idea if they can afford it.

My toda units will be here in a week. Will get you the missing weights.

Remember its not just weights. The toda units are under-drive, which puts even less strain on the motor.

Also, not a good idea in putting the total weight, when its not a total kit. Better idea, would be to put the total weight saved.

I pulled the trigger on the beatrush pulley set long before the other pulley sets came out at a much lower price of $550 (there was a xmas sale direct from Beatrush).

At 1st I was bummed that I paid so much when the GFB set came out and was a little lighter. but my set is the only one made out of 7075 grade aluminium (more than double the tensile strength of 6061), whereas all the others are grade 6061

Does it really matter the material? I mean I think the difference is insignificant really.

I would've thought that the pulleys are not underdriven stock anyways.

For total weight column I would instead replace it with "-x.xx" for the aftermarket pulley sets. So, minus how much weight the aftermarket pulleys are compared to the stock set.

Underdriven pulleys: never getting cold a/c again.

Based on? If you could share your info/source..

I guess toda didn't think about checking/testing that.

Underdriven pulley...it's just how it works, think about what the pulley actually does. Your alternator charges less, your lights dim, your a/c doesn't keep up. I was a bit dramatic in my statement, I will give you that.

Depends on whether those components were already working at full load, which I doubt; obviously location dependant for the ac workload.

We're just speculating. I'll be able to give some real world feedback, and if it does the above, I'll certainly pass that info on.

I also want to see if the kit will be able to charge a smaller battery. I'm more doubtful about that.

Good question. They have a thread with their development progress updates in this engine/exhaust/trans/ECU forum.
