i bugged John (manager at Champion) yesterday saying that a lucky 86'er already got his car. he promised to look hard into the inventory log to find any clues. i try not to get too worked up about it lol.

Awesome! Keep us up to date!

I haven't heard from Jim Lee yet about my pre-order...

And don't worry lux, he said it was a look no touch kind of thing. It looks like they are taking great care of you.

Unlike, charles maund, those two faced idiots.

Anyway, even though I bought a mustang I'm still pretty excited to see these things on the road.

Yeah, go ahead and give Scott Foss over at Champion a call of you're interested. His direct line from his card is 512-971-3677.

The more business we can pull away from maund, the better.

But will it be available for viewing before noon? Because I usually take my lunch break at 10 or 10:30am.

Those fucks signed a preorder agreement with me stating I would have right of first refusal and then when I called to check in a few months later they wouldn't answer the phone. Turns out they weren't going to honor our agreement and decided to sell the car first come first serve instead, obviously at a substantial markup.

Needless to say I was not very happy and that experience was the linchpin in my decision to test drive other cars. I am going to write up a formal complaint with Scion corporate but I doubt it'll do anything considering I'm already driving around in a different car.

Whatever, I'll just get the turbocharged STI version in a few years when my insurance rates get lower

Two months is not that long...So there were still spots available? MSRP pricing? I might just call and get on that list...

I think these guys are pretty honest, so MSRP is most likely.

The sad thing is that I called Scott back and he never answered the phone I hope I didn't lose my place in line...

...oh god I'm going to make a terrible financial decision, aren't I?

Buying any car brand-new is a terrible financial decision. Buying any brand-new car for MSRP is a terrible financial decision. Buying any brand-new car for MSRP in it's first model year is a terrible financial decision.

I hope I have made you feel better about your terrible financial decision.

No, I bought a mustang a few weeks ago for 22,999 and now I kinda still want the FR-S. The "trade in value" for the mustang is 24,500...

So I'm thinking that if I go in and try to haggle on my trade in I might end up making 1,500 on owning a car for a month. But that's crazy talk, because I just bought a goddamn car.

But if I can actually make money on the trade-in...
