The jump drive is really cool, as is the shirt. Just in case you're wondering, (I don't think this was posted) the jump drive is 1GB.

(Yea, I know others got one of each, but let me have my moment).

I have to admit, I was hoping the usb drive contained some "secret" information, like an operating manual, price list, Meatloaf MP3s, something like that.

It will definitely be in the suitcase. I might have to see if my wife has any fabric paint so I can make the car the "right" color though.

one scion even i went to when they were just announcing the iQ and tC2, they gave away USB drive "bracelets", they had macbooks set up in the showroom area.
there were videos of the cars and desktop backgrounds you could download onto them.

I wonder if the same kinda thing might be set up for you guys over there.

This stuff IS nice to keep along with the car. I've already started my FR-S showroom in my garage! I bought a HUGE poster of the concept car on eBay and had it framed and it is hanging in front of where the car will be parked. I've even framed the letters that we've received from scion to go along with it. I'm thinking about NOT taking the shirt with me to Long Beach because it might end up in one of those Jersey display cases along with all the trinkets they've sent us. The wife thinks I'm nuts, but I'm enjoying it!

The skid pads are for cell phones and ipods or tables.. You stick it on the back of the phone then you can set it on the dash without the phone falling off.

what's sad is i thought of it backwards, stick it to the dash so shit doesnt slide off....all this excitement is ruining my resale value (glue marks) before i even get the car

they can work either way really.
they sell small mats in stores that aren't a "sticker" and you can move it where ever you happen to need it.

I'm probably going to do similar with most of the stuff they send us, but I seriously doubt my FR-S will have enough value in 10 years (let alone 20) to resell. Since this will be my daily driver, it is very likely to have 200K+ miles in 10 years. Even as one of the 1st 86, there probably won't be much value there.

It's cool being one of the First, but the bottom line is mine won't be a hanger queen and no one is going to ever consider it collectible unless the other 85 get totalled along the way.

I've done that with nearly every car I've owned. I have had 3 cars that have gone 150K+ miles, and 2 cars with 250K+ miles on them. It's the only way to go as far as I'm concerned.

I hadn't looked at the color breakdown in a while. I would have never bet when I selected Firestorm I would have the "rare" color. I actually almost picked something else at the last minute thinking, "wait, they are probably all going to be red".

Just updated the list and percentages. If you see anything missing let me know.

When you guys have your meeting in Long Beach point out the registry if you can. I'd love to see all the winners sign up for records.

I was pretty much planning on making my FR-S a daily driver but was convincing myself otherwise. This morning I type from my iPhone as I sit in my crappy Saturn as I wait for a tow truck because it won't run anymore. At 198k miles, I'm guessing the heart just died, also recently (a day) the check oil light turned on... So that may have something to do with it. Either way it looks like I'll have only one car when the FR-S is out so it'll be daily. Now the question is will I be able to hold off until then.

A loan on the FR-S is going to be > $400 a month.

A monthly rate for a rental car is $450 a month. Just rent a car.

I'm in the same boat different clunker, my DD as 298K miles on it and I'm convinced it will die an agonizing death any day. Fortunately, I have a Honda 919 to fall back on if I need a stop-gap now that the weather has turned nice in the SE.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I DO plan on driving it. It'll just be a "hangar queen" MOST of the time. It'll be like riding my motorcycle; not when it's raining!!!
