Anyone have an issue with a physically attractive woman having an annoying trait that just drops the chemistry level down?

Happens a lot. I'm rather picky (fml) and little things like that tend to completely turn me off :O

Most attractive girl I ever dated (and I mean two dates, I couldn't stomach any more) looked like someone you'd see in a victorias secret catalog. She must have had something close to three functioning brain cells; I couldn't deal.

Yes. Usually their personality.

It's gotten to the point where being physically attractive is a negative mark on their profile, to me.

Something random, what's up with this?

2011 Nissan 370Z
332hp
270tq
3232lbs.
MSRP: $31,000

2011 Nissan 370Z NISMO
350hp
276tq
3300lbs.
MSRP: $40,800

$10,000 more for 6 tq, a bit heavier and a bit more hp? Anyone else think this is redundant?

Doesn't it come with a ton of random bits here and there? As far as the engine goes they just moved the power peak up. Obviously not that great of a deal though.

@Dimman, how hard is it to fabricate motor mounts? :O I am thinking, MR2+C160+1NZ-FE. 1NZ has a pretty short stroke for an economy motor, it should be possible to wind it out with some rods and all that shit. Service mass under 190lbs!

On a side note, the more I try to read about engine swaps and stuff, the more I realize car companies dump their low tech and outdated engines and 5 speed transmissions on America, while Europe gets 6 speeds standard and more sophisticated engines. Damn.

Tell me about it. Some times it bothers me when girls get all high and mighty, so when they do I might have to take them down a peg to see how they respond. Some change, some get better overtime, and then there're the ones that will come right back at ya. I'm not gonna lie man, I do tend to like a girl that will push right back.
As for annoying traits well if the girl is way too self conceited and expects me wait on them like some butler, then forget that, I'm done and out of there. It ain't worth my time that's for sure, because there are plenty of other woman around that are just like them and possibly better.

Motor mounts aren't a big deal. If you have access to fancy CAD and FEA through school I would play around with that, too.

You might get to the point where you abandon the swap idea and just build your own Locost.

That's good to know, I guess a smaller engine should be quite easy? I hate CAD though, and screw FEA/CFD, I don't want to even bother learning those. Seems like a massive PITA.

The enticing thing about the 1NZ is the 90 pound (or something like that) weight reduction, for only 20hp less, but the stupid gearbox is only 5 speed. Even with the crappy 5 speed the fuel economy should be like 15% better, but 5 speeds suck.

Then I got this other idea, the 1NR comes with 6 speed standard, they'll eventually be bringing the 1NR over to the US (could be a long time considering they're still producing damn 1ZZs here to squeeze every last penny out of their tooling), hopefully with the 6 speed still there, and really hopefully with stop start still there. It's only 1.33L, but it's got a nice shortish stroke (hehe), 11.5 compression stock, and perhaps it can be bored 3mm to 1.44L. Shave the head so it becomes 13:1 compression, rev it out to 10k, maybe like 190hp? I'm dreaming.

I don't think I'd go for a Locost ever, the way I imagine this would go is I'd keep the car stock until something important blows, before that only easily reversible mods.

When I say Locost, I don't exactly mean the Lotus 7 clones. Built your own kit car for whatever crazy powertrain and aero you want.

Does Gran Turismo 5 simulate engine break-in? That would explain why they bothered to put odometers on every car.

I am racing in a 400pp race with my Scion FRS and I did the first one with 0 miles and after winning and putting about 5-6 miles on the car, it's PP went up by one. So I limited the power a bit more and did the second race. Again, after winning, the PP went up by one.

So I can only assume that engines actually get broken in in GT5, which is badass.

Yup they have break-in miles. Also first overhaul too.

Solidworks is pretty intuitive and has native FEA and CFD solvers. It's not as hard as you think.

When I saw the wheels in person I thought they looked great! The chrome doesn't show the fact the rest is Dark Gunmetal.

Very nice on the Impreza

Yea but that's too hard. Would rather start from a car that's already certified road legal and has all the electronic gizmos needed to run, and has body panels of some sort. The MR2 is perfect like I said, because it has mid engine configuration so the aero can be pretty good with some tweaks, and it's really light to start with. You know, one day I might just do this 6 speed 1NR-FE thing, give it some super beefed up rods and make the 2ZZ's revs look low.
