CMIYC Northern Beer and Racing Tour 2013 - Anyone wanna help crew or join us for drin

We decided to knock out two "bucketlist" tracks this April with the Chump Car Integra =) We will be racing at Watkins Glen April 12-14 and Road America April 20-21. That gives us a full week in between to make a 12.5 hour drive! And that means lots of Brewery tours and Brewpub visits!

Also, in classic Chumpcar style we plan on *DRIVING* the race car the entire time, often while pulling (yes, with the race car) a utility trailer full of tools, parts and, well, coolers for the beer! Our support/tow vehicle will also be along but towing isn't nearly the same type of adventure =)

Here's the current plan, you'll note a specific Yuengling Brewery stop, alone with stops that will look quite familiar to Expo and WMHM participants, assuming we can find events on the days we will be around said areas mid week. ACC might be added to the tour as well if we can find, or sneak into, a track day on the Thursday (probably) before RA.

And here's a list of potential tasty stops along the way. Many of these will obviously be eliminated as time goes on and we will probably focus mostly on Breweries that offer tours. In this list a "T" after the name means Tour, "BP" is "Brewpub":
Pottsville, PA - D.G. Yuengling T-BP
Watkins Glen, NY - Rooster Fish Brewing BP
Corning, NY - Market Street Brewing BP
Lakewood, NY - Southern Tier Brewing T-BP
Erie, PA - BrewErie at Union Station BP
Erie, PA - Erie Brewing Company T-BP
Erie, PA - Lavery Brewing T
Madison, OH - Cornerstone Brewing Company BP
Madison, OH - Cellar Rats Brewery T-BP
Cleveland, OH - Buckeye Brewing Company BP
Cleveland, OH - Cleveland ChopHouse and Brewery BP
Cleveland, OH - Great Lakes Brewing T-BP
Cleveland, OH - Market Garden Brewery BP
Cleveland, OH - Nano Brew Cleveland BP
Cleveland, OH - Fat Head's Brewery BP
Akron, OH - Ohio Brewing Comapny T
Akron, OH - Thirsty Dog Brewing Company T-BP
Akron, OH - Hoppin Frog Brewery
Lakewood, OH - Buckeye Beer Engine
Rocky River, OH - Rocky River Bewing BP
Westlake, OH - Black Box Brewing BP
Strongsville, OH - Brew Kettle Taproom BP
Toledo, OH - Maumee Bay Brewing BP
Maumee, OH - Granite City Brewery BP
Milan, MI - Original Gravity T-BP
Ann Arbor, MI - Arbor Brewing Company T-BP
Ann Arbor, MI - Blue Tractor Brewing BP
Ann Arbor, MI - Grizzly Peak Brewing BP
Ann Arbor, MI - Wolverine State Brewing BP
Ypsilanti, MI - Corner Brewery and Beer Garden T-BP
Albion, MI - Bad Bear Brewery BP
Marshall, MI - Dark Horse Brewing T-BP
Battle Creek, MI - Arcadia Brewing T-BP
Kalamazoo, MI - Bravo! BP
Kalamazoo, MI - Olde Peninsula Brewpub BP
Kalamazoo, MI - Sunset Boulevard Brewing Company BP
Kalamazoo, MI - Bell's Brewery T-BP
Grand Rapids, MI - Founders Brewing T-BP (a bit out of the way, but...)
Paw Paw, MI - Paw Paw Microbrewery BP
Decatur, MI - Patchwork Brewing Co BP
Benton Harbor, MI - The Livery
Sawyer, MI - Greenbush Brewing BP
Baroda, MI - Round Barn Brewery T-BP
South Bend, IN - Four Horsemen Brewing
Michigan City, IN - Shoreline Brewery BP
Valparaiso, IN - Figure Eight Brewing BP
Whiting, IN - Bulldog Brewing T-BP
Munster, IN - Three Floyds Brewing BP
Chicago, IL - Argus Brewing T-BP
Chicago, IL - Goose Island T-BP
Chicago, IL - Half Acre Beer Co T-BP
Chicago, IL - Haymarket BP
Chicago, IL - Revolution Brewing T-BP
Chicago, IL - Rock Bottom Bewery BP
Lake Bluff, IL - Lake Bluff Brewing Company T-BP
Kenosha, WI - Public Craft Brewing T-BP
Milwaukee, WI - Horny Goat Brewing T-BP
Milwaukee, WI - Lakefront Brewery T
Milwaukee, WI - MillerCoors T-BP
Milwaukee, WI - Jos Schlitz (tours hopefully!!!)
Milwaukee, WI - Milwaukee Brewing Company T-BP
Milwaukee, WI - Stonefly Brewing BP
Milwaukee, WI - Water Street Brewery BP
Chippewa Falls, WI - Leinenkugel T-BP (too far away probably but would be awesome!)
Glendale, WI - Sprecher Brewing T-BP

My list of preferred brewery locations:
Pottsville, PA - D.G. Yuengling T-BP - After all our car was built while consuming lots of it!

Watkins Glen, NY - Rooster Fish Brewing BP - Why not, Sunday night after the race sounds like a great time to stop by!

Lakewood, NY - Southern Tier Brewing T-BP - Love their beers, so a tour would kick arse.

Erie, PA - Erie Brewing Company T-BP - Wanted to visit them this year but ran out of time

Cleveland, OH - Great Lakes Brewing T-BP - One of my favs

Akron, OH - Thirsty Dog Brewing Company T-BP - It's on the way to Mid Ohio.. hopefully we can find a track day at Mid Ohio in the middle of the week....

Akron, OH - Hoppin Frog Brewery - Heard great things, wouldn't mind picking up a few 6 packs for when we get back to Florida.

Toledo, OH - Maumee Bay Brewing BP - Hometown, wouldn't mind stopping.

Marshall, MI - Dark Horse Brewing T-BP - Heard good things.

Kalamazoo, MI - Bell's Brewery T-BP - Is a reason really needed?

Grand Rapids, MI - Founders Brewing T-BP - Would love to do this one too, depends on whether or not a test and tune at Gingerman raceway happens

Munster, IN - Three Floyds Brewing BP - Heard tons of great things about them.

Chicago, IL - Goose Island T-BP - Another must stop

Milwaukee, WI - MillerCoors T-BP - Not a fan, but hell it's a massive operation and would be interesting.

Chippewa Falls, WI - Leinenkugel T-BP (too far away probably but would be awesome!) Out of the way, but I would absolutely love to do this one.

Glendale, WI - Sprecher Brewing T-BP Why not?

Lots of good beer on that list.

Your route looks like it takes you through Frederick, MD. You could stop by Flying Dog's brewery there for a tour. Tasty beers and good peoples, though I've never done the tour. There's also a Dogfish head brewpub in Gaithersburg, MD which is worth a stop.

I'd love to stop by both of them, unfortunately the time leading up to WGI (and the time leading back from RA to Florida) will be tight so almost all of the brewery stops will happen between Watkins Glen and Road America. We will be stopping in at random stores to grab local 6 packs throughout the trip though

We did RA this year in August and was a blast. Our car lacks torque and top end so the straights and hills were killer but still did alright. I believe 6th out of 50 or so.

April is a bit early for us and Wisconsin. Worried about weather more than anything really. We'll have to put it on the list for our team meeting this month and see what everyone thinks.

I could use a nice break at the Osthoff, and some beers at Siebkens right about now, oh and the food at the Paddock Club is awesome!

yeah we are concerned about weather ourselves, especially since we aren't planning on towing.. we are getting some used all seasons for the race car to at least have a chance in light snow if it happens

Our honda also lacks torque but the top end is just fine.....
