I only suggest it based on the fact that there is a large Toyota meet that is going to happen on 9/9 - why not come up and have a large showing for the FR-S/BR-Z community at the event?

I was down in Oakridge WA the past few days getting my mountain bike action on... just got back.

I think that Shelton WA would work if we can actually hit the track... but it sort of depends on if we are going to have an actual event there. I think that most people will make it on a weekend, if we make this a weekday thing then a lot of people aren't going to show. If we are just meeting somewhere (with no event) then it doesn't really matter where... the race track would just be a good place for an event.

Centralia/Chehalis WA are the closest towns to true center of Portland and Seattle. Maybe we could enlist a photographer with REAL SKILLS to document this and we could all meet in the middle for a big group photo? I'd like to do a nice little circuit cruise, too... from our meet out highway 6 to Raymond WA area, where the northerners can split up 101 to Montesano and back home, and the southerners can split down 101 to Astoria and back home. That way everyone is putting about the same miles on their cars.

I can put a shout out to a couple of photographers and a videographer or two... anyone else have input?

If people want to go play at The Ridge we could split the groups:

Group 1: Those that are going to go play at the track
Group 2: Those that are going "on a drive"

The 2 groups can meet in the evening at 4-6pm at The Ridge and maybe do a dinner or something after.


There are 2 options are for tracking events on Saturdays at The Ridge.

Ridge Racing School has 2 groups: 1 for those with previous tracking experience (High performance day) and 1 for those with no previous experience (Ridge Driving experience = More $$ as you have an instructor all day).

I think that for this first meet we shouldn't try to get too complicated or expensive. The goal for this first meet is just to put faces to forum names. Meeting, taking some photos, maybe a short cruise or fun FREE event and then everyone can head home.

Then, down the road, we can plan something a little more comprehensive.

And again, Shelton would add an extra 100 miles round trip for us Portlanders, so having a central location for this first meet is important so that we can include as many people as possible.

The date is not carved in stone, either... if we have to push this out a week or two so that more people can fit it into their schedules then that is fine.

How about the last day of September, the 30th? That adds an additional two weeks of planning time for those who can't make it.

I agree. Free is good and central location is key.
