When I go to the dealer to pick up filters they ask for the VIN # because there are different part numbers speced for different build periods. It is tough to beat their ~$6 price so I keep going back.

I second that someone cut open many different filters before. They concluded the OEM filter filtered the most particles. Cant' remember if that was in this forum or on a website.

So I went and bought a bunch of OEM filters.

Looks like the 130 has 63 pleats vs. the 160/15A with only 56 pleats.

Evaluating the performance of an oil filter can't be as simple as just counting the number of pleats.
I bought my car recently, just did an oil change. It had this $5 Autozone oil filter.
I cut it open (to check if it had anything in it) and I counted 65 pleats.
By the way, cutting an oil filter with a saw does require some elbow grease..

yeah, it's not just the number of pleats. it's also the filtering medium material, as well as the bypass springs strength

No, there's a thread somewhere here where they compared many different filters,
and again, OEM was concluded to filter the best.

No different parts. I only use the Subaru filters manufactured in Japan. The Toyota filters are made in Taiwan.

The S1 (Toyota) filter is made in Thailand. The original filter that came with the car was made by Tokyo roku in Japan.

I cannot find 15208AA130 in Germany anymore. Subaru Deutschland is installing now an oil filter called Blue Print. It is a company belonging to the Bilstein group.

In amazon.de it says:
"This product is covered by a full OE Quality Warranty"

Not sure what that means ...
