Would not in the least bit be surprised if it's closer to the iA, but with less chrome and more FR-S in the edge fog light areas.

Uh, actually the reason it's closed off is to increase aero-efficiency. Opening the grill more increases drag. You only need enough of a hole for cooling.

Personally, I'd keep the camo on. I know what it looks like without, and I don't like it.

What I mean is that the shape of the grill lowers aerodynamic efficiency. The air will get caught in all those pockets vs a regular smooth bumper design.

+1

There's also a MX-5 ND on the back in one of the photos. Coincidence?

The air that gets caught up in those pockets becomes, essentially, part of the car. It gets carried along in front of the vehicle, forming roughly a rounded shape as if there were no grille.

The area of compressed, stagnant (relative to the car) air, then somewhat smoothly deflects incoming air. Basically, blanked-out grilles don't hurt aerodynamics because they catch air.

I suppose that could be but I've never seen a race car with such design. At best it doesn't effect the aerodynamics and is just fake/useless for cheap styling purposes. At worst, it does cause some extra drag. Either way, I don't like it and don't get why new cars keep getting bigger and bigger (fake) grills. Does anyone actually think it makes it look better or more powerful?
