RWD, Turbo 2L 4cyl, 315hp, 6 speed manny, double wishbone front and rear..

Factory Turbos don't really excite me (I like NA) but as a track junkie, a dynamic camber curve front and rear is really neat.

I don't care what anybody says about KIA or this car. I welcome it because we need Toyota to offer a more potent engined version of the FRS. If Toyota won't Kia is showing that they will. I love competition! It would have the perfect recipe for me.

1. 3000 lbs or less!
2. 300hp or more!
3.RWD!
4. Low slung and sleek sports car proportions!
5. Possible 30+ mpg hwy!
6. 2+2!
7. Hatchback!
8. Possibly well under 30K!
9. 10yr/100K warranty!

The FR-S only got 6 of those. And some FR-S haters would welcome the other 3 for sure as that has been a issue for some.

This is essentially a poor mans Cayman S

I like it! Though not as pretty as the FRS, it certainly wins in everything else. Now as for price, that will determine greatly how this car will sell. If it's priced similar to the Genesis 2.0T Rspec, I may have to jump into this KIA.

Uh oh. You know what though if the wrx production looked anything like the concept I would have bought that instead. If this car kicks out what they say it does, I might be tempted to buy one.

I'd hold my applause until it comes out and I've had a test drive.
If Kias drive like recent Hyundais do, I suspect they will be a bit of a letdown in terms of driving feel/dynamics.

But yes - competition is good.

I'd take that bet. Just because dimensions and price are similar doesn't mean it can't be a vastly different car. There's no good reason a company would show off a RWD concept and build hype, only to completely switch it around for the production vehicle. If they build it at all they'd be looking at a different packaging configuration, so there's no reason to go with what they've already got.

Nothing new, really. Volvo showed off a car with transparent A pillars for added visibility a long time ago, and I don't believe it's being offered on any vehicle on the market. Just in case though, it's a good thing you can cover a spot of glass with vinyl.

This, for the most part. I like the Genesis Coupe a lot but it feels just a bit lacking even if it's still a great car. I think some of this is because of the push to be a G37 competitor rather than a more stripped down sports car though.
However, I'll still hold my final judgment when I see a production vehicle. It'd be great if we got one soon but I have a feeling it's a while off, and by then who knows what other competition will be available.

Don't get me wrong, I want it to succeed and meet the speculated specs.

I just hope it's not like the genesis, good on paper but turns out the be meh

I was good until this part...

"The pedestrian safety thing has been screwing up everyone's designs for a while. Is the Stinger designed with that requirement in mind?"

For the concept, we didn't build in those requirements, so we'd have to alter a bit. 567
