Weight will make/break this car IMO.

If I were Kia, I wouldn't even bother if it weighs 3300 lbs. At that weight, it'd just be another 350/370z.

If it's under 3000 lbs though, it has the potential to be an actual FR-S competitor, but with a lot more hp. That would be interesting.

Judging by the rear of the roofline it seems like they may have had a focus on the rear seats being functional. Looking forward to interior shots.

I would have liked it if it wasn't for the step ladders on the windshield.

Quick and dirty, but I think it looks better with horizontal headlights. I'd have to imagine this is closer to what production would look like:

I see Mustang, GT86, Z, etc in this photoshop all by changing the headlights.

Does it look like everything else on the road? A bit, yes. Is that because I dislike the headlights on the concept? Probably. These might still look a bit too small. Also, I love that area where the headlight meets the grille. Sorry about that, it's quick and dirty.

It's a concept. I wouldn't focus on the details too much, or at all.

Remember the difference between the SSM and S2000 or the FT-86 and the FRS?

Reminds me of the 70's celica. Depending on specs and performance, this may be the first ever Kia I like.

All Kia needs to do is buy a Cayman S and benchmark its feel and performance into this car for 25~27k msrp.

Details are out - but remember, this is just a concept!

double wishbones all around
103.1" wb
169.7" ln - 3" longer than the 86, not bad
49.2" ht - having the concept this low gives hope for production
74.4" wd - this is crazy wide, 4.5" wider than 86, ~2" wider than a Z, into Vette/Mustang territory
2874 lb - again, having the concept claimed this low gives hope

Overall, +5-10% weight with +50% hp and +100% ft-lb sounds pretty good to me if they get all the details right! (steering feel, a real LSD, an ECU that doesn't modulate the throttle at every shift and doesn't rev hang, etc)

I think the headlight being mounted higher (i.e. right above the hood cutline) would be even nicer - but I agree - I'm not a big fan of the vertical headlamps.

Profile, shape and size look very nice though.

Whole car is ugly and outdated. I'll pass, even with good performance numbers
